    • Disclosed are systems and methods for casting, handling, or storing assay matrices. In one embodiment, an assay matrix casting system comprises a gel matrix frame sandwiched between two films, forming a nullgel matrix mold,null two plates sandwiching the gel matrix mold, one or more devices for delivering gel material into a chamber formed by the gel matrix mold, and a device for pressing the plates toward each other. An assay matrix is cast by applying pressure to the, injecting a liquid gel material into the chamber of the gel matrix mold, and allowing the gel material to form a gel matrix inside the chamber. The gel matrix may be handled or stored using the gel matrix mold, which is removable from the other components of the gel casting system.

    • A method for manufacturing plastic-substitute goods by using natural materials is disclosed. Agricultural byproducts and wood byproducts such as rice husks, rice plant stems, corn plant stems, bean plant stems, wheat plant stems, saw dust and the like and the washed and dried sludge produced from the alcoholic factory are crushed into a particular size, then the crushed particles are mixed with natural adhesives (such as corn starch, potato starch and the like), and are coated with melamine resin or urea resins, and then a molding is carried out by applying a pressure in a molding machine, thereby manufacturing the plastic-substitute goods. The raw materials of the present invention are readily available from the rural areas, and the molding is carried out at a temperature of 100-300 degrees C.

    • The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for producing a polyimide molding which have superior productivity and accuracy of dimension. The invention particularly relates to a tubular polyimide applicable to an electrophotographic device, such as a laser-beam printer and a copying machine, or a precision driving belt required for high strength and high dimensional stability. The method of producing a polyimide molding according to the present invention comprises the steps of: mixing a solution containing polyamic acid as a main component and a chemical curing agent; providing a mixture to a mold while the mixture is still fluid; after the polyamic acid contained in the mixture is changed into a semi-formed body which develops self-supporting properties, taking out the semi-formed body from the mold, or inserting a mold for heating without taking out the semi-formed body, or removing a part of the mold; and drying solvents which are present on the surface of or inside the semi-formed body by heating the semi-formed body to produce a polyimide molding.
