摘要： A desired decorative design on packaging such as tubes is made up of a combination of printed matter and a decorative foil such as a metal, pigmented or textured pattern foil. The method involves the steps of first applying the printed matter to the material with an ink treated to prevent adherence of the foil to the printed matter. Thereafter, the foil coated with an adhesive is positioned against the material and heat and/or pressure applied so that a foil transfer will occur onto all areas of the material engaged by the foil that are devoid of the printed matter. The foil is applied with a smooth continuous silicone pad. Exact registration is assured and the use of complicated die designs is wholly avoided.

In the method, a laminated hot stamp foil is calendered in printing engagement with the metal substrate strip between a grooved metal roller and a heated resilient roller having a peripheral printing tongue. The pressure of the tongue on the hot stamp foil precisely transfers the ink stripe onto the metal strip.

Plastic pellets are placed in the holes of a mesh according to a predetermined pattern, each hole being sized to accommodate a single pellet. The pellets and mesh are heated until the pellets begin to fuse together. The mesh is then separated from the fused pellets. The fused pellets may be heated further until the plastic ornament achieves the desired smoothness.

摘要： A device for applying a label from a supply of label stock in a predetermined position on an object. The device includes a first frame for positioning and supporting the object, and for movably mounting a second frame. The second frame is manually movable over the object on the first frame to dispense a label to the object from label dispensing means operated by relative movement of the frames and to press the dispensed label into engagement with the object on the first frame. The label dispensing means includes a novel indexing means for positioning the next label to be dispensed in a predetermined position on the second frame for a subsequent label application.
