    • In a method of joining printed sheets to form a pad by compressing the top of the stacked sheets between the plates of a printed press the sheets are printed on coated paper having sufficient microporosity to retain on the surface the adhesive agents of the ink employed. The sheets are printed with an ordinary ink which polymerizes naturally in air. A pressure of 100 to 250 daN/cm.sup.2 and preferably greater than 150 daN/cm.sup.2 is applied between the press plates over an area reserved for gluing. The microporosity of the paper as measured by the offset test on the I.T.G. machine using Lorilleux 3800 ink gives the following optical density results: after 15 seconds: 0.30 to 0.80; after 60 seconds: 0.10 to 0.60. A plurality of stacked pads separated by heating or heated separators may be pressed simultaneously. The press plates may carry complementary waffle or groove patterning in the area reserved for gluing. The press plates may be covered with a non-stick film which may be a silicone-based product.

    • In accordance with the present invention, a multi-year calendar comprises a plurality of successive sheets, each sheet representing a day of a year. Each sheet includes a first indicia representing the name of a month and a numeric date. Each of the sheets includes first and second rows disposed generally from the left to the right of the sheet. The first row defines first successive regions and the second row defines second successive regions. The first successive regions are in vertical alignment with the second successive regions such that each of the successive regions in the first row is associated with a corresponding region in the second row. Each of the first successive regions include a second indicia representing the number of a year and each of the number increases in consecutive order from the left to the right of the sheet. Each of the second successive regions includes a third indicia representing the day of the week corresponding to the day of the month of the first indicia and to the year of the second indicia in the first row. The third indicia in each corresponding region in the second row in each of the successive sheets progresses consecutively through the days of the week.

    • Disclosed is a portfolio comprising a body of sheet-like material having a central hinge line dividing the body into first and second covers. A foldable panel is hingeably attached to the first cover, and has a surface carrying a serial array of card-receiving pockets which are exposed to a user when the foldable panel is folded away from the first cover. In one embodiment, the portfolio includes an interior section forming a pocket with the first cover. The foldable panel divides the pocket into two chambers when disposed on either side of the foldable panel. In a second embodiment, the interior section comprises an integral extension of the foldable panel being joined thereto by an interior hinge line.

    • A chart is divided into sections representing different times of day and days of the week for providing a space to indicate and document when medication should be taken as well as to indicate if the medication has been taken. A plurality of sets of different distinctively shaped and colored stickers are provided which are clearly visibly distinguishable one set from the other sets. A selected set of stickers is chosen for each medication which is to be taken and the sticker from that set is affixed on the chart on the appropriate day and time as prescribed by the user's doctor. At the same time, the same shaped sticker from that selected set is affixed on the prescription container. By matching the shape of the sticker on the bottle with the shape of the sticker on the chart, the medication to be taken is clearly identified at specific times of the day, and when it is taken a mark is placed in the section of the chart next to the sticker indicating the time and day on which it is taken to provide a permanent record of what medication is taken as well as when. By using a different set of stickers of each type of medication a system is provided for reminding the patient of the type of medication which is to be taken, when it is to be taken as well as providing a permanent record when it is taken.

    • A calendar system for training and enhancing the memory of a person practicing the methodology of the system. Two calendars are arranged side by side. The first calendar is permanent and reused each year. The user notes thereon events of perennial significance for reference at appropriate times throughout each year, thus regularly refreshing the users recollection of these events and enhancing the user's memory thereof. The second calendar is temporary in nature and meant to be replaced at regular intervals. Unlike the first calendar, the second is provided with indicia representative of the instant calendar year, as well as indicia representing the day-names of the week. The user records on this second calendar current and near-future events of transient significance. This second calendar is disposed of and a replacement provided therefor at selected regular intervals since the record of transient event data is not intended for perennial reference. A mounting base, available in multiple forms, maintains the two calendars in close juxtaposition.

    • A base which is adapted to hold a pile of similarly dimensioned sheets includes a substantially flat and rectangular holder, which defines two parallel and normally horizontally positioned sides, and a frame which may be attached to, and surround the holder. The holder is formed with normally upright rim strips, and the frame covers the rim strips. Each rim strip is formed with a guide slot; a bar of transparent material is disposed in parallel with the horizontally positioned sides, and is slidable along the holder in a direction substantially perpendicular to the horizontally positioned sides. The frame is formed with recesses in the region of the guide slots, so as to accommodate the slidable bar, and each recess in the frame, and each guide slot corresponding thereto is located in a center region of a corresponding rim strip, and extends along about one third along a length thereof. The bar has bent over end portions engaging the guide slots, respectively, and a frame-like slider is glidably disposed on the bar.
