摘要： A process for expanding tobacco is provided which employs carbon dioxide gas. Tobacco temperature and OV content are adjusted prior to contacting the tobacco with carbon dioxide gas. A thermodynamic path is followed during impregnation which allows a controlled amount of the carbon dioxide gas to condense on the tobacco. This liquid carbon dioxide evaporates during depressurization helping to cool the tobacco bed uniformly. After impregnation, the tobacco may be expanded immediately or kept at or below its post-vent temperature in a dry atmosphere for subsequent expansion.

摘要： Tobacco extracts are provided by first extracting tobacco material with water and then subjecting the resulting aqueous tobacco extract to a liquid/liquid extraction process using a long chain alcohol. Preferably, the pH of the aqueous extract is adjusted to about 9 or above prior to the liquid/liquid extraction step. The two immiscible solvents then are separated from one another such that there is provided an aqueous tobacco extract having certain extracted tobacco components removed therefrom and long chain alcohol solvent having extracted tobacco components carried thereby. The processed aqueous extract can be spray dried to provide a concentrated tobacco extract which then can be employed as flavorful forms of tobacco for cigarette and other smoking articles.

摘要： A method for preparing a tar extract from a discarded cigarette butt and use of the tar extract in a cigarette includes the following steps: (1) adding the discarded cigarette butt to an extraction solvent, and carrying out microwave-assisted extraction to obtain an extraction solution; and (2) centrifuging the extraction solution, carrying out silica gel column chromatography on the supernatant, carrying out elution by using a petroleum ether-ethyl acetate mixed solution as a mobile phase, and collecting the resulting elution fraction to obtain the tar extract. In the method, the tar is extracted from the discarded cigarette butt as a raw material. Through the microwave-assisted extraction and separation by the silica gel column chromatography, harmful substances in the tar of the cigarette butt are removed, and the components with aroma characteristics are retained, and the tar extract is applied to a low-end cigarette.
