摘要： A multi-layer bonded foil 10 which forms the inner wrapper of a cigarette pack is provided with a tear line 14 to facilitate opening a tear flap 15. The tear line is formed by a fixed lower tool 25 having a raised rib 28 flanked by grooves 29, 30 and a reciprocable upper tool 20 having a pointed edge 21 and movable between guide supports 22, 23. The upper tool is heated and forced into the foil to stretch-weaken its upper polyester layer 11 and central aluminum foil layer 12, and to simultaneously heat soften and deform its lower polyethylene layer 13.

摘要： A machine direction method of manufacture of reclosable packages is disclosed wherein a semi-circular or similarly shaped perforated pattern is punched in the web in registration with the package side seals. Continuous lines of perforation are punched in the web parallel to the top of the package. The web is folded and shaped into a package with a header which includes the semi-circular perforated pattern and the lines of perforation. A similar transverse direction method of manufacture is disclosed. When the top corner of the header is pulled, the header tears along the shaped perforation until it meets the horizontal line of perforation, thereby avoiding tearing through the area of the header that is sealed to the zipper flange, the header then tears along the horizontal perforation and finally follows the shaped perforation on the opposite end of the package.

The upper perforating member opposes the lower perforating member. The upper block is moved towards the lower block, pressing the acute corners of the particles into opposing surfaces of the preform, sealing the pouch with a tearable area.

Apparatus for forming the reclosure tie with a bag includes first and second sealing jaws with external and internal grippers for holding web material. The first sealing jaw carries cutting and perforating knives and a cooling block that directs cooling air onto the knives to prevent the knife temperature from rising to the melting temperature of the web material. Each sealing jaw contains a heating block with complementary sealing surfaces for forming various seals including the seals that form the tail portion of the reclosure tie.

摘要： A recloseable container comprises an outer carton and a collar disposed therein. The outer carton includes opposing top and bottom walls, opposing front and back walls, and opposing side walls. The collar is press bonded to one or more of the inner surfaces of the opposing front and back walls and the opposing side walls of the carton. The opposing side walls and the front wall of the carton include a continuous horizontal tear strip for opening up the carton from a sealed form to form a lid hingedly attached to a base section. To manufacture the recloseable container, an outer surface of a strip of collar material is press bonded to an inner surface of carton material. The attached carton material and strip of collar material are then simultaneously die-cut and scored to produce a respective carton blank and collar blank from which the recloseable container is formed.

摘要： This invention provides an easily openable tightly sealed plastic bag which is formed of a film containing at least a substrate layer and a heat seal layer and is possessed of a sealed part whose substrate layer contains a multiplicity of through cuts, these cuts being formed substantially on the edge lines and partly or wholly closed with the heat seal layer. This tightly sealed bag safely retains the practical strength normally expected of any bag and avoids accidentally sustaining rupture while the bag is being transported or handled and yet permits itself to be opened with the force of finger tips. This invention manifests its utility particularly in a tightly sealed bag which is formed of a substrate of high strength and high barrier property. This invention further provides a method suitable for the production of the tightly sealed bag described above and a device to be used in working the method. The easily openable tightly sealed plastic bag of particularly desirable quality can be obtained by the method and the device so provided by this invention.
