    • A control device for multiple lamp currents of a liquid crystal display (LCD) backlight source, comprising an electronic power switch, a transformer, an inverter and an integrated circuit (IC) feedback control module. The transformer has a primary side connected to the electronic power switch and a secondary side having two ends each connected to an end of a set of lamp composed of two lamps. The inverter has three sets of coil connected to the other end of the two sets of lamp. The IC feedback control module is connected between the inverter and the electronic power switch and through which currents flown through the two sets of lamp may be balanced. Meanwhile, the current flown through the inverter is feedback to the IC feedback control module by which a control signal is outputted to the electronic power switch by determining and processing the feedback current, thereby controlling an output signal from the electronic power switch. Therefore, luminance of the multiple lamps in the LCD backlight source may be controlled and maintained.

    • Disclosed are a power supplying apparatus, a backlight assembly and an LCD apparatus having the same. A control section outputs a switching signal so as to control an output of a constant current supplied to a lamp unit in response to on and/or off signals and a dimming signal and a switching section controls an output of a direct current voltage source in response to the switching signal. A power outputting section provides an alternating current voltage source having a constant voltage to the lamp unit. A sensing section senses variation of a power supplied to the lamp unit and a detecting section compares a sensing signal with a predetermined reference signal to output a detecting signal to the control section, thereby maintaining the constant current to be supplied to the lamp unit. Accordingly, the LCD apparatus may prevent deterioration of an image and damage of circuit thereof.

    • Various systems and methods for LCD backlight control are disclosed herein. For example, some embodiments of the present invention provide an LCD backlight circuit with an analog inverter circuit that provides a drive voltage to a lamp. A current traversing the lamp is sensed and provided to a digital control circuit. Based on the sensed current, the digital control circuit generates a control signal that is fed back to the analog inverter circuit. In some cases, the digital control circuit is used to cause a gradual increase in voltage applied to the lamp to achieve ignition of the lamp. In other cases, the digital control is used to provide a pre-distorted sine wave that attenuates one or more harmonics introduced into the system by the non-linearities of the lamp.

    • A driving apparatus (2) for cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) includes a primary and a secondary driving circuits (22, 21), a primary and a secondary light tubes (24, 23), a primary and a secondary feedback circuits (26, 27), and two photosensitive elements (25) corresponding to the primary and the secondary light tubes, respectively. The primary and the secondary driving circuits provide power to drive the primary and the secondary light tubes, respectively. The primary feedback circuit receives photoelectric current of a corresponding photosensitive element and provides an output signal to the primary driving circuit. The secondary feedback circuit receives currents of both photosensitive elements, and provides an output signal to the secondary driving circuit to keep a brightness of the secondary light tube the same as the brightness of the primary light tube.
