    • A digital data error block detection and display device which prevents incorrect operations in a receiving section due to data errors, displays block numbers containing errors, and thereby allows the operator to easily identify error-containing blocks. It is first checked whetehr a device bebug mode has been selected, and data errors are detected in digital data while transmitting the same. Digital data transmission is terminated when a data error has been detected. Digital data blocks containing data error are identified. A decision is made whether digital data including the digital block in which data error has been detected is to be transmitted. Transmission is continued of the digital data including the digital data block in which data error was detected.

    • Facsimile transmission can be effected in a conventional television system by means of code words which occur in a television line period in a field blanking interval. Transmission in the UHF band does not give rise to specific problems, but transmission in the VHF band does, in particular in that pulse disturbances occur. The influence of these disturbances can be eliminated by transmitting the same facsimile information during two (or more) successive line periods. The receiver is provided with a circuit which includes three delay devices, one having a delay time equal to a line period and the other two having delay times equal to at least the duration of a facsimile code word. The pulse disturbance is detected by means of a superposition stage and a signal detector, and the undisturbed code word is supplied via a change-over stage to a storage stage.

    • An apparatus is described for recording and playing back video frames with associated audio signals for use with a conventional television display. A magnetic loop is employed to store video frames for display with associated audio information being placed on a separate frame on another magnetic medium. A full program of video and audio frames may be received and selected from a remote transmitter and appropriately located on a magnetic medium for sequential display on the television display. A first embodiment uses a cassette tape with a video loop for storage and playback of a program. A second embodiment uses a pair of multiple track belts for program storage and playback. Pilot signals are employed to precisely store the video frames on the video loop and to automatically sequence the display and sound projection of the multiple video and associated audio frames.

    • Synchronizing signal regenerator for regenerating a plurality of synchronizing signals from a composite signal including a plurality of synchronizing signals. The composite signal comprises a first synchronizing signal formed of a pulse series having a predetermined certain repetition frequency and intermittently inserted at a predetermined period for a predetermined duration, and a second synchronizing signal synchronized with the boundaries of the pulse series of the first synchronizing signal and inserted at a repetition period equal to the width of the intermittently inserted pulse series. The synchronizing signal regenerator comprises a circuit for deriving the pulse series by detecting the first synchronizing signal, a hold circuit for producing a continuous pulse when the derived pulse series has an interval less than a predetermined length, an integrator for integrating the output signal of the hold circuit, a circuit for producing a trigger pulse when the amplitude of the integrated signal reaches a predetermined value, a circuit for detecting and regenerating the second synchronizing signal, and a step down circuit for regenerating a signal synchronized with the time interval in which the pulse series of the first synchronizing signal is inserted by frequency dividing the regenerated second synchronizing signal by using the regenerated second synchronizing signal as a clock pulse and by making the trigger pulse a clear pulse.

The receiver further comprises means for detecting a blanking period by said third signal and a means for controlling gain of the receiver in accordance with the detected level. The receiver still further comprises means for fixing the level of the blanking period by using a part of the blanking period a predetermined fixed level.
