    • An object is to provide a drive apparatus for an injection molding machine which can generate a large thrust force and can provide short-cycled continuous drive. The drive apparatus includes a housing (11); a tubular linear motor (14) including a movable element (12) disposed within the housing (11) in a manner capable of advancing and retreating, and a stationary element (13) attached to the housing (11), the linear motor (14) serving as a first drive section; a member-to-be-driven (15) caused to advance and retreat together with the movable element (12); and a second drive section attached to the housing (11) and disposed such that at least a portion of the second drive section overlaps the linear motor (14) along the axial direction. By merely a slight increase in a radial dimension, the area of a permanent magnet (23) of the movable element (12) can be sufficiently increased, and the capacity of the linear motor (14) can be increased.

    • A washing machine having a rotor directly connected to a rotary shaft. The driving motor includes a stator mounted to an outer surface of a water tub, and a rotor disposed around the stator while being directly connected to the rotary shaft, which is connected to a rotary tub. An insertion hole is formed at a center of the rotor, and a plurality of fitting holes are formed around the insertion hole. At an end of the rotary shaft is formed an inserting protrusion, which corresponds to the insertion hole. The rotor is fixed to the rotary shaft by inserting the inserting protrusion through the insertion hole. To the rotor is attached a reinforcing member having a plurality of fitting protrusions, which vertically extend such that the fitting protrusions are fitted into the fitting holes of the rotor, respectively, such that the strength of the rotor is increased.

    • The present invention provides a single piece machined rotor comprising a shell having an upper lip and a lower lip, with a pocket formed between the upper lip and the lower lip for mounting magnets therein. The magnets are fixed in place within the inner sidewall of the rotor with an adhesive and spacers. The spacers are positioned between the magnets and are held in place on the shell of the rotor by fasteners. The spacers may be of any type of non-magnetic material that can absorb the heat of the engine. The rotor also preferably includes triggering protrusions and balancing cutouts machined into the shell of the rotor. The cutouts or grooves may be machined into the inner sidewall or the outer sidewall of the rotor. A plurality of timing teeth used for engine speed sensing maybe machined into the single piece rotor assembly. The present invention also contemplates a method of machining the entire rotor out of a single piece of material.

At least one of the pair of end plates (16, 17) is made of aluminum whose heat radiation is higher than the magnetic sheet steel plates.
