    • A system, method, and device may include software and hardware which simplify and quicken configuration of the system for testing a device, enhance testing procedures which may be performed, and provide data via which to easily discern a cause and nature of an error which may result during testing. A camera may capture still images of a display screen of a tested device and another camera may capture video images of the tested device and a partner device. A wizard may be used to generate a configuration file based on one previously generated for a similar device. A mount for a tested device may be structured so that: it is suitable for mounting thereon a plurality of differently structured devices; and adjustments in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction in a plane and adjustments of an angle of the device relative to the plane may be easily made.

    • A method for processing an image of a patch panel includes: a) receiving an initial image; b) determining multiple ports of the patch panel are aligned in a desired orientation in the initial image; c) processing the initial image to identify edge lines perpendicular to the desired orientation; d) processing the edge lines to identify a port hypothesis that includes an estimated port gap between the multiple ports along the desired orientation and an estimated port size for the multiple ports along the desired orientation; e) processing the port hypothesis to determine an estimated port quantity for the multiple ports; and f) processing the port hypothesis to identify an estimation error between expected and detected edge line positions in relation to a reference axis perpendicular to the edge lines. An apparatus associated therewith includes an input/output and pre-processing modules and detection, hypothesis, estimating, and scoring processors.

    • A machine may be configured as a vehicle identification machine to identify a model of a vehicle based on an image that depicts a dashboard of the vehicle. As configured, the machine may receive an image of the dashboard, where the image depicts a layout of instrumentation within the dashboard. The machine may identify the layout of instrumentation by processing the image. For example, the machine may process the image by determining a position of an instrument within the layout of instrumentation, determining an outline of instrument, or both. The machine may access a data record that correlates a model of the vehicle with the identified layout of instrumentation and, based on the data record, identify the model of the vehicle. The machine may then provide a notification that references the vehicle, references the identified model of the vehicle, or references both.
