    • A pointing device having a moveable puck that moves in a predetermined field of motion by applying a lateral force thereto is disclosed. A first linear spring is attached to the puck, the first spring applying a first force to the puck at each location in the field of motion. A second linear spring is also attached to the puck, the second spring applying a second force to the puck at each location in the field of motion. The first and second springs return the puck to a predetermined location in the field of motion when the lateral force is not applied to the puck. The first linear spring is folded around a bending point and attached to a portion of the pointing device that is stationary with respect to the puck.

    • An ergonomically developed, dome-shaped, alphanumeric interface apparatus for use with an electronic system, such as a computer or electric typewriter is described. The apparatus is configured in accordance with ergonomic principles and uses chording of both hands to type the characters of any user-defined alphabet. The device includes a set of domes that are shaped and contoured to conform to the shape of hands in a relaxed state and to distribute pressures across the splayed underside of the user's hand. Each dome is capable of movement in a plurality of discrete lateral sectors. The domes used together, utilizing a chording principle, can generate up to 144 characters depending on how many discrete movements are defined by the user. In a nonchording mode of operation, each dome is capable of producing up to 12 characters independently of the other dome. The two-handed implementation disclosed utilizes input movements that enable keystroke actuation via only slight arm or hand movement, no finger movement being required. In addition, cursor control is possible via either dome.

    • A control linkage is provided suitable for use on a swather. The linkage includes a housing, a hand lever pivotally coupled to the housing for angular movement about a first axis, and means adapted to pivotally mount the housing at a location for convenient use by an operator and for movement about a second axis perpendicular to the front axis. The hand lever includes a bracket having an attachment portion spaced transversely of the first axis in a direction lying generally along a second axis and a crank is attached to the housing and extends outwardly for arcuate movement when the hand lever is moved about the second axis. First and second control rods have ends attached respectively to said attachment portion and to said first crank and other ends attachable to a control mechanism coupled to the reel and table of the swather whereby movement of the hand lever about the second axis primarily controls the height of the table and reel and movement of the hand lever about the first axis primarily controls the height of the reel.
