    • An evacuated bottle system including providing a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck defining an opening that provides fluid communication with the interior; providing a cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, where the second portion extends radially outward from the first portion to form a floor on an interior thereof and a shoulder on an exterior thereof, the first portion defining a first bore and the second portion defining a second bore fluidly connected to the first bore; a self serum stopper having a self sealing membrane that extends radially outward to overlie at least a portion of the floor of the funnel; and a cap having a cap wall sized to fit over the funnel and a cover portion extending radially inward from the cap wall, the cover portion defining at least one evacuating opening; assembling the cap assembly with the bottle by inserting the first portion of the funnel into the neck of the bottle; supporting the funnel on the neck of the bottle at the shoulder; inserting the serum stopper within the funnel where the self-sealing membrane covers at least a portion of the floor to seal the first bore of the funnel from the second bore; applying the cap over the funnel and attaching the cap to the bottle, wherein the cover portion extends radially inward over a portion of the self-sealing membrane and defines a gap axially outward of the self-sealing membrane; applying a pressure differential relative to the interior of the bottle to create a suction at the evacuating opening to draw the self-sealing membrane axially outward within the gap a distance effective to provide fluid communication between the first bore of the funnel and the second bore the funnel; maintaining the suction until a selected pressure is achieved within the interior of the bottle; and withdrawing the suction, wherein the selected pressure within the bottle draws the self-sealing membrane against the floor of the funnel to reseal the interior of the bottle.

    • A versatile pouring system (10) reducible to constituent components having independent and combinatorial functionality. The pouring system (10) comprises a funnel (12), including a removable filter (26); a first spout (14); a second spout (16); and a cap (18). The funnel (12) is semi-rectangular with an offset neck (24) to securely receive and support common one quart fluid containers. The removable filter (26) is operatively positioned within the funnel neck (24) to trap and retain residue or debris. The spouts (14, 16) are of different lengths and are coupleable with the funnel (12), with one another, or with common wide or small-mouthed fluid containers. The cap (18) fits both spouts (14, 16). All four constituent components can be assembled into a single coherent unit for convenient storage.

    • A combined measuring cup, funnel and strainer utensil. The utensil includes a main body having a sidewall defining an upper opening and a lower opening. Material may flow through the upper and lower openings to funnel the material. An abutment flange extends outward from the sidewall, and may act as a base to support the utensil. The lower face of the abutment flange may include a plurality of shoulders to provide stability when the utensil is used as a funnel. A flow barrier includes a plug section which may block the lower opening to permit the utensil to be used as a measuring cup. The flow barrier additionally includes a handle section in the form of a fluted flange. This may be placed within the main body, with the indentations of the fluted flange forming openings for straining material within the utensil. A cover may be placed over the upper opening to seal the main body against contamination, permitting storage of the material.

    • A sealable drum funnel is attached onto a drum by threading the device into the larger bung opening of the drum. The sealable drum funnel includes a funnel body having an open top end and an outlet opening at a bottom end thereof. A sealing lid is coupled to the open top end of the funnel body. A drum coupling is attached to the bottom end of the funnel body. The drum coupling includes a threaded exterior on the lower portion thereof, a threaded interior on at least an upper portion thereof and a passage extending through the drum coupling from the outlet opening of the funnel body.

    • Apparatus for funneling waste into a drum containing four trapezoidal sidewalls. The four trapezoidal sidewalls coupled to form a non-symmetric truncated pyramid having a vertical axis. A drain pipe having a circular cross-section with a vertical axis that is coincident with the axis of the pyramid. The drain pipe has external threads for coupling with a drum. A coupling plate is coupled to the pyramid. Four rectangular sidewalls are coupled to the truncated sidewalls to form an upper extension of the pyramid. Vertically extending supports depend from the apparatus sidewall that has notches to position over the peripheral flange of a drum. A filter is supported within the apparatus.
