摘要： An aquatic garment-heating device employs a conductive rubber-heating device, which obviates the troublesome wiring of the prior art heating devices. It also employs a wireless switch control, which provides a number of advantages. By using a wireless switch, the on/off mechanism for activating or deactivating the heater, may be worn on a diver's wrist where it can be readily located when needed without requiring wires hanging in inconvenient places. Moreover, because the wireless switch may be located in plain view, rather than hidden in a pocket for example, it may be implemented with meaningful visual devices to convey useful information about the status of the heater. For example, in the preferred embodiment, an observable light provides various different colors to indicate whether the heater is in a low, medium or high temperature condition. Finally, the present invention uses especially thin profile batteries and heating elements to preclude any discomfort for the user. An alternative embodiment is provided on an external, detachable belt, which may still employ the wireless switch and thin profile heating element and batteries, but in an implementation, which permits the diver to add a heating system to an otherwise conventional wetsuit.

摘要： The invention is directed to a wetsuit/floatation device which advantageously provides a combination wetsuit/flotation device integral with the wet suit so that a user can maintain unrestricted movement during water-sport activities and have the option of gaining instant buoyancy during times of dangerous water conditions. The invention can be made in a number of embodiments, with one being a vest which can be worn over a person's skin or over another wetsuit. The vest has an inflatable bladder extending from two chest panels around the back of the user's neck, with a valve connected to a removable CO2 canister which is triggered by a pull cord/handle extending outside of the wetsuit. The vest also has an inflation adjustment valve located near the neck by which a user can orally inflate or adjustably deflate the vest.

摘要： A protective body heat retaining pod that is carried in a folded condition within a special purpose backpack attached at the rear of a harness that is worn over a conventional life jacket by both civilian and military personnel who find themselves in or about to enter a cold water environment while awaiting rescue from an emergency situation. A hood to be pulled over the head and cinched tightly around the face of the wearer is attached to the back of the protective body heat retaining pod. The protective pod has a sealed body portion that fits around the legs, arms and torso of the wearer within which a small volume of water is trapped and heated by the wearer's body heat to slow a drop in the wearer's body temperature. A cinching cord is attached to the bottom and sides of the protective pod to be pulled upwardly by the wearer, whereby the protective pod is correspondingly pulled upwardly and inwardly to draw and hold the wearer's legs in a fetal position so as to reduce the size of the body portion and thereby minimize the volume of water to be trapped and heated therewithin.
