    • A marking device (10) comprises a housing (12) having a handle (16). A frame (20) is pivotally mounted in the housing aout a first axis (22). A marking head (40) mounted on the frame for translational movement in the frame by a first motor (84) in a first direction (x) parallel said first axis and spaced therefrom. A second motor (100) is arranged to pivot the frame with respect to the housing about said first axis in a second, substantially orthogonal direction (y). The pin moves in a third orthogonal direction (z). The motors (84, 100) are disposed within the confines of the frame (20) and move on fixed screws (84, 104).

    • In the marking apparatus in which the marking tool is vibrated by piezoelectric body vibrator and characters are engraved onto the objective material, the detection means detects the amplitude of piezoelectric body vibrator as the DC signal, and the drive control means adjusts the frequency of the drive signal so that the level of the DC signal detected by detection means is within a predetermined range, and drives piezoelectric body vibrator, and by appropriately adjusting the frequency to drive piezoelectric body vibrator, drives piezoelectric body vibrator with a predetermined amplitude. Accordingly, because the amplitude of piezoelectric body vibrator can be kept within a constant range, the stable resonance can be conducted. Further, the resonance can be conducted without being influenced by the resonance frequency of the tool.

    • A handheld pneumatic power tool apparatus is provided for use with a supply of pressurized air. The apparatus includes a handpiece and a pressure regulator assembly for regulating the pressure of air supplied to the handpiece. The handpiece includes a cylinder having first and second ends, an anvil positioned at the first end of the cylinder, and a piston received in the cylinder for bi-directional oscillating movement between the ends. The pressure regulator assembly includes a valve for controlling air flow to the handpiece, a pressure sensing element for sensing the pressure of the air supplied to the handpiece and for automatically controlling the valve in response to the sensed pressure, a compression spring for biasing the pressure sensing element against the pressure of the air supplied to the handpiece, and a foot pedal operatively connected to the compression spring for adjusting the force exerted by the spring on the pressure sensing element in order to adjust the regulated pressure of the supplied air.
