    • A power drill has a rotatable spindle extending from a power-unit housing, a chuck body rotationally fixed to the spindle, a jaw guide carried on the chuck body and rotatable relative thereto about the axis, jaws carried in the chuck body, and a pusher element rotatable about the axis in the chuck body and fixed to and bearing axially on the jaws. Screwthreads between the pusher element and the spindle is effective to move the jaws radially on rotation of the spindle about the axis relative to the guide. A coupling sleeve rotationally fixed to the jaw guide is movable between a tightening position rotationally fixed to the housing for movement of the jaws by the pusher element on rotation of the spindle and a drilling position rotationally fixed to the spindle and rotatable relative to the guide for joint rotation of the guide, jaws, and spindle.

    • The invention relates to a spindle, in particular a machine spindle, which is used to machine a work piece by means of a tool which is applied to the spindle, comprising an axially displaceable tension rod (30) which is used to secure the tool to the spindle, and a drive shaft (4) which is driven, in particular, by the motor of the spindle. The drive shaft of the spindle can be connected via a coupling device either to the tension rod (30) for axially displacing the tension rod (30) in order to change tools or to the tool in order to machine the work piece. The tension rod (30) can be axially displaced in a work shaft (1) which is embodied as a hollow shaft. The work shaft (1) can be arrested in relation to the housing (2) of the spindle in a first coupling position in order to axially displace the tension rod (30) within the work shaft (1) by the drive shaft (4). The angle position of the work shaft (1) and the drive shaft (4) can be freely selected in the first coupling position. A common drive of the work shaft (1) and the tension rod (30) can be produced by the drive shaft (4) in a second coupling position. The angle position of the work shaft (1) and the drive shaft (4) can be freely selected in the second coupling position.

    • In a clamping device for machine tools, the device is provided with a power-operated chuck and clamping jaws actuated by a draw rod, the clamping device having an electrical servomotor with a changeover function, a movement converter, and a force accumulator for maintaining clamping force, the movement converter and the force accumulator being integrated in a tube-shaped jacket piece inserted in a housing of the clamping device and divided into two parts connected together. A spindle nut of the movement converter is rotatably supported between the two parts by a projection, and spring packs of the force accumulator are clamped between stop rings and a cover on the jacket piece. The jacket piece is mounted within the housing as to be moved axially by the draw rod via the movement converter. It is possible to determine the clamping force prevailing in the power-operated chuck using only one measuring point.
