    • A collar constructed from or including a ferromagnetic material snaps into position around the inner end of a heat and moisture exchanger (HME) or a hands-free tracheostoma valve for mounting on the end of a laryngectomy tube or neck-mounted housing, and a magnet on the outermost region of the laryngectomy tube or neck-mounted housing for attracting the collar. The collar includes a central opening through which air and respiration products flowing through the HME or hands-free tracheostoma valve may pass. The HME or hands-free tracheostoma valve is readily attached to the laryngectomy tube or neck-mounted housing by bringing the HME or hands-free tracheostoma valve with the collar fitted thereto into close proximity to the magnet.

    • There is provided a valve (2, 102, 302, 402) which comprises a housing (4, 04, 204, 304, 404) in which a movable valve element (6, 106, 206, 306, 406) having first and second valve members (14a, 14b; 114a, 114b; 214a, 214b; 314a, 314b; 414a, 414b) is disposed. A plurality of ports (A-E) are disposed in the housing, and first and second seal portions (8a, 8b; 10a, 10b; 108a, 108b; 110a, 110b; 208a, 208b; 210a, 210b; 308a, 308b; 310a, 310b; 408a, 408b; 410a, 410b) are connected to the housing. The first and second seal portions each have a sealed configuration in which first and second pairs of ports are sealed from one another with the first and second valve members respectively. At least one of the first seal portion and the first valve member is deformable such that, when only the first seal portion is in the sealed configuration with the first valve member, deformation allows the second seal portion to be brought into the sealed configuration with the second valve member, and/or at least one the second seal portion and the second valve member is deformable such that, when only the second seal portion is in the sealed configuration with the second valve member, deformation allows the first seal portion to be brought into the sealed configuration with the first valve member.

    • A medical device has a fluid port (2), a tube (20), a socket (4), which can be connected to the fluid port and to the tube with freely selectable rotation positions. The tube is provided with a transponder (22) and with a writing and reading device for communication with the transponder, which has an antenna (24) in the area of the fluid port. The socket is provided with a coil (5, 6) each, whose axis of rotation is directed essentially coaxially to the axis of rotation about which the relative rotation position of the socket is variable. The two coils are connected by electric lines (8), to which at least one capacitor (9) is connected as a circuit component. The coils, the electric lines and the circuit component form an electric oscillatory circuit for transmitting signals between the writing and reading device and the transponder.
