摘要： An apparatus (20) for folding a sheet of foil (11) includes a feeder (23) and a folding means (24). The feeder (23) can feed a sheet of foil to the folding means (24). The folding means (24) includes a first surface (27) and a second surface (28) which can be arranged to bear against first and second opposing faces respectively of a portion (31) of the sheet of foil (11) at or near to the leading edge (11′) of the sheet of foil. One or both of the first and second surfaces (27,28) can be rotated about a foldable axis between the first and second opposing faces to create a first fold along the foldable axis.

摘要： A device 2, 102 for streaking hair by use of a streaking dye includes a base plate 4, 104 which can be placed against a person's head to serve as a support for a hair-"passee" 24 to be treated. The device 2, 102 further includes a perforation-pattern plate 10, 106 which can be laid on the base plate 4, 104 and thereby on the hair-"passee" 24. Perforation-pattern plate 10, 106 has a finished pattern of arbitrary geometry and on which the streaking dye can be deposited. The base plate 4, 104 and the perforation-pattern plate 10, 106 are approximately rectangular, each comprising a respective concave side 12, 120 and 14, 124 configured to be placed against the head. The base plate 104 and the perforation-pattern designed as an intermediate plate 106 are connected to each other by a film hinge 112. At its side 114 opposite the base plate, the intermediate plate 106 is connected by a further film hinge 116 to a cover plate 108. The base plate 104, the intermediate plate 106 and the cover plate 108 are collapsible in a zig-zag manner.

摘要： The invention relates to a number of different devices that are useful in selectively altering hair color by the application of hair color altering liquids to selected portions of the hair of men and women. These include applicators that are adapted for use with, or are actually used with, squeeze bottles to hold the hair color altering liquids such as bleaches, tints, toners and the like, combs with absorbent jackets to hold such liquids by absorption and to yield them up to the hair as the comb is passed through it, and clamps to control the length of the hair to which liquids are applied by these or other methods of application. The applicators comprise an elongated, slender, preferably frusto-conical parting tools molded integrally to a closure cap that may be screwed or otherwise removably secured to the bottle and spreading means such as rollers, spatulas, brushes, sponges, fibers such as cotton batting, balls, transversely broadened smooth integrally molded spreaders intermediate in height between the cap and the free end of the parting means and spaced therefrom so as not to interfere with its use as a parting tool. The clamps comprise a pair of bars recessed on the facing surfaces with recesses for tresses, hinged at one end and removably locked together at the other and with a sheet of rubber or plastic secured to one of the bars to protect underlying hair and scalp from contact with the liquid that is spread into the hair below the clamp. A second clamp may be used at the outer end of new growth, if desired.

The user applies a colorant or bleach to the section of hair and overlays a second strip of material on the first strip of material. The second strip of material may by at least partly transparent and the target color may be applied to one side of the first strip of material to allow the user to easily determine when the hair section has achieved the target color.
