摘要： To obtain a liquid crystal display device excellent in reliability without employing any special arrangements. In each pixel region on the liquid crystal side of one substrate of respective substrates which are disposed opposite to each other with a layer of liquid crystals interposed therebetween, one electrode and an insulating film plus a remaining electrode are formed so that these are laminated or multilayered from the one substrate side, the one substrate is formed as an arrangement that can also do double-duty as a reflection film, whereas the other electrode is formed of a plurality of electrodes which extend in one direction within the formation region of the one electrode and are parallel-provided in a specified direction that crosses or intersects the one direction.

摘要： A normal transistor CTFT connected to a data signal line DL and a pixel electrode PX and a spare transistor FTFT in a floating state are formed on a gate line GL. When an operational abnormality occurs in the normal transistor CTFT, the normal transistor CTFT is cut off from the data signal line DL and is cut off from the pixel electrode PX connected via a through hole TH by cutting lines CL. Thereafter, the spare transistor FTFT is connected to the data signal line DL and the pixel electrode PX by repair lines RL.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes pixels, each of which includes a first transistor and a second transistor. The size of the first transistor is larger than the size of the second transistor. In addition, channel widths and gate widths for the first transistor are larger than those of the second transistor. Also, the first transistor is located to be closer to a drain signal line provided for the pixel than the second transistor. In normal operation, the first transistor is coupled to the drain signal line and the second transistor is floating. However, if an abnormality occurs in the first transistor, it is cut off from the drain signal line and the second transistor is connected to the drain signal line by a repair line.

摘要： An LCD device has a pair of substrates including orientation films on surfaces thereof which face opposing substrates. The substrate on which signal lines are formed, on a side thereof which is disposed between a region on which sealing material is arranged and a display region and along which the signal lines extend to the outside of the sealing material from the display region, includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and an insulation layer which is interposed therebetween. The insulation layer extends in the direction at least along an outer periphery of the display region, and includes groove portion having a recessed groove which opens on the orientation film side. The first conductive layer is covered on the surface of the recessed groove. The signal lines are formed in a state that the signal lines go around the recessed groove.

摘要： The present invention suppresses the spreading by wetting of an orientation film material in a liquid form toward a sealing agent applied region positioned on an outer periphery of a display region in forming an orientation film thus ensuring the uniformity of a film thickness in the display region. A pair of substrates includes orientation films on surfaces thereof which face opposing substrates. Out of the pair of substrates, the substrate on which the signal lines are formed, on a side thereof which is disposed between a region on which the sealing material is arranged and the display region and along which the signal lines extend to the outside of the sealing material from the display region, includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and an insulation layer which is interposed between the first and second conductive layers between the orientation film and the substrate, the insulation layer extends in the direction at least along an outer periphery of the display region, and includes groove portion having a recessed groove which opens on the orientation film side, the first conductive layer is formed along a shape of the recessed groove, and the signal lines are formed in a state that the signal lines go around the recessed groove.

摘要： The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which can obviate the generation of leaking of light and display irregularities in the vicinities of so-called dummy pixels. The liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates which are arranged to face each other in an opposed manner with liquid crystal sandwiched therebetween, a plurality of gate signal lines and a plurality of drain signal lines which are formed on one substrate in a matrix array, a plurality of pixel regions defined by the gate signal lines and the drain signal lines, and a reference electrode and a pixel electrode which are formed in the inside of each pixel region. In such a constitution, the plurality of pixel regions are formed in both a display region and a non-display region, and a voltage applied to the reference electrodes is applied to the pixel electrodes in the inside of the pixel regions in the non-display region.
