    • A metallic honeycomb body has an axial length, a partial volume covering at least 55% of the length, a radial dimension of at least 20 mm and inflow and outflow end sides. Sheet-metal layers are structured permitting a fluid, particularly internal combustion engine exhaust gas, to flow through the body between the end sides. The layers each have a surface area, partial regions and end side edges. Each of the layers has a multiplicity of holes formed at least in the partial regions in the partial volume. The holes have a hole surface area of between 1 and 120 mm2. The layer surface area in the partial volume is reduced by 10 to 80%, preferably 35 to 60%, by the holes compared to a layer without holes. The partial volume is spaced from each of the end sides, preventing the holes from touching and cutting through the end side edges. The partial volume amounts, in particular, to more than 60%, preferably more than 90%, of the total honeycomb body volume. A highly effective coating for treatment of a fluid for most known forms of honeycomb bodies yet with a reduced use of coating material while still being able to specifically match properties of a honeycomb body in terms of mechanical stability, heat capacity, thermal conductivity and the like to the requirements of individual applications, is provided.

    • A method and apparatus for providing dialling intervals in dialling sequences indirectly dialled by a register in which such sequences are stored, such intervals being in accordance with the dialling intervals produced by a user during direct dialling of such sequences. Direct dialled subscriber numbers which include a dialling interval after at least one digit therein, such as for line access, are stored in a reference memory along with such interval. Upon an indirect dialling of such sequence from a redial or abbreviated dialling register, a microprocessor in the telephone set compares such sequence digit by digit with sequences stored in the reference memory, and if there is a match inserts in the dialled sequence the dialling interval in the matching stored sequence. By counting the number of such agreements for each stored sequence of dialling digits, the sequence having the lowest count value can be erased from the reference memory and replaced by a new dialed sequence having a dialling interval, thereby reducing the necessary storage capacity of the reference memory. A dialling interval in a stored sequence is altered in accordance with the interval inserted by a user each time such sequence is directly dialled, thereby adapting to the dialling behavior of the user.

    • A subscriber telephone set which comprises a multifrequency dialing tone oscillator, a microprocessor connected thereto for controlling selection of the tones produced thereby, and an acoustic signal element for producing a ringing sound corresponding to ringing tones applied thereto. The microprocessor prevents incorrect triggering of the acoustic signal element by noise voltages on the subscriber line by verifying that the amplitude of the ringing current received on the line exceeds a predetermined level, and also that the ringing current frequency corresponds to the frequency of a resetting signal internally generated within the microprocessor. Upon such verification, the microprocessor controls the dialing tone oscillator to generate a ringing tone which is applied to the acoustic signal element to cause it to generate a ringing sound, the dialing tone oscillator thereby also serving as a ringing tone generator for activating the acoustic signal element.

    • An apparatus for treating exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, includes a feed conduit feeding aqueous solution, a hydrolysis catalytic converter connected to the feed conduit and an SCR catalytic converter through which exhaust gas flows. A rod-shaped heating element heats at least parts of the feed conduit and/or hydrolysis catalytic converter. The apparatus provides a compact structure of a feed conduit heated by a rod-shaped element and a corresponding hydrolysis catalytic converter, with which an aqueous solution containing urea can be evaporated and then hydrolyzed to a gas stream containing ammonia. This gas stream serves as a reducing agent in the SCR process. The compact configuration allows installation in very confined space conditions. The hydrolysis catalytic converter, through which exhaust gas does not flow, permits the volume of the hydrolysis catalytic converter to be decisively reduced, since significantly smaller mass flows of gas need to be hydrolyzed therein.
