    • This invention provides a fiber optic sensor and sensor devices for the reversible detection of basic gas analytes, including hydrazine, alkyl hydrazines, amines, ammonia, and related chemical species. The optical fiber sensor is formed in an optical fiber which conventionally comprises an optical fiber core and a cladding layer. Transducer molecules are immobilized in contact with an exposed surface of the fiber core to allow interaction of the immobilized species with analytes in the environment around the sensor. Preferred transducer molecules for detection of basic gases, particularly hydrazine and hydrazine derivatives, are xanthene dyes and triphenylmethane dyes, including malachite green and crystal violet. The sensors of this invention can be employed in a variety of device configurations including single-site sensors and multiple-site sensor networks.

    • A system that allows a user to tune a designated a color profile for a specific color input or output device thereby creating a device specific profile from a profile for a similar device or from a generic device profile. The color values associated with the device, either patches input to a scanner or patches output by a display or a printer, are measured using a colorimetric color measuring device. These measured values are used to adjust or tune the profile to produce a more accurate profile for the particular device. The adjustment includes curve fitting the measured color values and simulated color values to create a mapping from the measured values to the simulated values. The curve is used to adjust the profile. To account for gamut shifts the color values can be mapped into the gamut of the device during tuning curve creation.

    • Rejection of local oscillator harmonic response is provided in a mixing circuit with a pair of harmonic gating switches serially connected to the outputs of a balanced differential switching mixer and controlled by a gate clock signal having twice the frequency of a local oscillator signal controlling the switching mixer. An aperture or duty cycle of the gate clock signal determines which harmonic is rejected or suppressed, which is preferably a third and/or fifth harmonic since response of the balanced differential switching mixer to even harmonics is negligible. The resulting simple, efficient circuit is readily integrated directly into a phase-alternating mixer structure for a chopper-direct-conversion radio.
