    • The invention provides a portable computer with shared hardware resources that can be used by other computers. The portable computer includes an interface converter, a control module, a power management module, and a power path switch. When the portable computer is powered off and connected with a computer host through a serial bus interface, the shared hardware resources of the portable computer obtain power from the computer host through the serial bus interface. The interface converter converts data between a shared hardware resource interface format and a serial bus interface format, and enables the shared hardware resources to communicate with the computer host and therefore are employed by the computer host. In one embodiment, the shared hardware resources include a keyboard. In another embodiment, the shared hardware resources include a keyboard and a display.

    • A portable device with an automatic power off protection and a method of achieving such a protection are related. The portable device circuit comprises a switch unit, a main body, and a battery. The main body includes an acceleration transducer that samples an analog acceleration signal; an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that converts the sampled analog acceleration signal into a digital acceleration value; a memory that stores a critical acceleration value and an interrupt flag; and a micro-control unit (MCU) that compares the digital acceleration values with the critical acceleration value and the comparing result which may or may not change the value of the interrupt flag. When the acceleration of the portable device is greater than the critical acceleration and the interrupt flag is enable, the MCU sends a break signal to the switch unit to power off the portable device.

    • A passive radio frequency identification (RFID) chip with a protection function against high-intensity electromagnetic fields includes an antenna for receiving electromagnetic waves generated by an RFID reader and generating AC electrical signals to output to a power unit at an output of the antenna; an input/output circuit; a logic circuit; the power unit for rectifying the AC electrical signals into DC (direct current) voltage and outputting the DC voltage to the logic circuit and the input/output circuit at an output of the power unit; a variable-capacitance diode including an anode connected with the output of the antenna and a cathode connected to ground; and a diode including an anode connected with the output of the power unit and a cathode connected with the output of the antenna. The passive RFID chip prevents the inner logic circuit and the input/output circuit from being damaged when receives high-intensity electromagnetic waves.

    • An overvoltage and overcurrent protection circuit includes a connection jack, an overvoltage protection switch connected to the connection jack, an overcurrent protection switch, a voltage reference module, an overvoltage and overcurrent detection module, a comparing module, and a current control module. The overcurrent protection switch is connected to the overvoltage protection switch in serials, and further connected to a load. The voltage reference module is to output a reference voltage. The overvoltage and overcurrent detection module is to detect the voltage of the load and the current of the path. The comparing module is to compare the voltage of the load with the reference voltage, when greater, turns off the overvoltage protection switch, when not greater, turns on the overvoltage protection switch. The current control module is to turn off the overcurrent protection switch if greater than the preset value, and turn on the overcurrent protection switch if not greater.
