    • A terminal retaining structure for a connector in which a terminal retaining member (2) is allowed to enter into a connector housing (3) from an opening (6) facing a terminal accommodating chamber of the connector housing. The terminal retaining member has a terminal retaining projection (13) in the front thereof and a notched stepped portion (14) in the rear thereof. In such terminal retaining structure, a primary temporary retaining projection (15) and a secondary temporary retaining projection (16) are arranged on an overhang wall portion (12) so as to be staggered in a terminal retaining member insertion direction. The overhang wall portion has the terminal retaining projection (13) of the terminal retaining member (2) projected therefrom. The primary temporary retaining projection (15) and the secondary temporary retaining projection (16) are engageable with the side end edges of the opening sequentially. The notched stepped portion (14) is brought into contact with and supported on an outer housing wall (9) after the secondary temporary retaining projection (16) has passed by the corresponding side end edge of the opening (6). As a result, the terminal retaining projection (13) is allowed to enter obliquely into the opening to come in contact with the inner housing wall.

    • The present connector has a structure which makes it possible to execute a step of mounting a wire holder serving also as a cover member to a housing main body and a step of connecting electrical wires to their respective pressure contact terminals in one operation to simplify the assembly thereof and is thus suitable for mass production. A housing main body supports the pressure contact edges of the pressure contact terminals in an upwardly bent position with respect to the male tabs of the pressure contact terminals. A wire holder holds a plurality of electric wires provisionally in such a manner that the wires can be pressure contacted with their respective pressure contact edges, and serves also as a cover member to close the upper opening of the housing main body, through which opening the pressure contact edges are exposed. By mounting the wire holder to the housing main body, the wires can be connected to the pressure contact terminals. Also, the wires are previously bent and provisionally held by the wire holder and a spacer cooperable with the wire holder to thereby prevent the wires from being removed backwardly.

    • An interior illumination lamp 1 includes a housing 13 for mounting in an opening 12 formed in an interior member 11 of a vehicle, upstanding members 14 formed in an upstanding manner on a reverse surface 13a of the housing 13, bending members 15 which are connected respectively to distal ends of the upstanding members 14, and can be bent to be disposed generally parallel to the reverses surface 13a of the housing 13, and a plurality of pairs of prevention portions 17 which are provided on the reverse surface 13a of the housing 13, and are disposed adjacent respectively to the upstanding members 14. Each pair of prevention portions 17 prevent the corresponding bending member 15 from being restored from a bent condition to an upstanding condition when engagement portions 16, formed on the bending member 15, slide respectively past the prevention portions 17. The reverse surface 13a of the housing 13 and the bending members 15 hold the interior member 11 therebetween, thereby mounting the housing 13 on the interior member 11. There are provided angle maintaining means 18 each for keeping the corresponding bending member 15, bent into the bent condition, at a predetermined bending angle.

    • A first connector has a rear end side supported by a part to be assembled. A second connector is to be fitted with the first connector to be mounted from a front end side thereof.     • A connector holding structure is provided to securely hold a print-board connector loaded on a printed circuit board in a casing. The print-board connector includes a connector housing, which has a connector chamber for receiving a counterpart connector in its front portion. The casing has an opening that receives the front portion of the connector housing. The print-board connector has a lock arm and a stopper on at least one surface of the connector housing. The lock arm comes into engagement with the outer edge of the opening of the casing, and the stopper comes into contact with an inner face of the casing near an inner edge of the opening when the connector housing is fit into the opening. The lock arm comprises a flexible base portion extending in the direction of insertion of the connector housing, and a step formed at the trailing end of the base portion. The step catches the outer edge of the opening.
