    • In a microprogram-controlled device operable under the control of a microprogram, a control storage device (10) comprises a control storage unit (11) memorizing a plurality of microinstructions each including a plurality of every second microinstruction addresses in number less than the maximum number of available branches for the microprogram. A bank switching unit (12) selects, as a selected microinstruction (SMI), one of the next microinstructions on the basis of a branch information signal (BI). A microinstruction register (13) holds the selected microinstruction as a current microinstruction. A branch control unit (15) processes a branch condition signal (BCD), a branch control signal (BCT), a branch classification signal (BCF), and a branch condition selection signal (BCS) into the branch information signal, an address selection signal (AS), and an address modifying signal (AM). An address selector (16) selects, as a selected microinstruction address (SMIA), one of the every second microinstruction addresses on the basis of the address selection signal. An address modifier (17) modifies the selected microinstruction address into a modified microinstruction address (MMIA) on the basis of the address modifying signal and an address modifying selection signal (AMS). The address modifier supplies an address register (14) with the modified microinstruction address.

    • For use in a virtual machine system including a mode register indicative of one of NVM, VMM, and VMOS modes in which the virtual machine system is operating, a timer controller comprises a first timer and updated when the mode register indicates whichever of the NVM, VMM, and VMOS modes, a second timer coupled to the mode register and updated only when the mode register indicates the VMOS mode, and interruption receiving circuit for receiving a first interruption as a first received interruption and a second interruption as a second received interruption when the first and the second timers are updated to a predetermined value, respectively, and an arrangement for informing a host operating system of the first received interruption and guest operating systems of the second received interruption. Preferably, the arrangement is coupled to the mode register to inform the host operating system of the first received interruption when the mode register indicates either the NVM or VMM mode. When the mode register indicates the VMOS mode, the arrangement reports the first received interruption to a virtual machine control program of the host operating system.

    • A miniature type, rechargeable atomizing spray mechanism having a container for the liquid to be atomized, and further having a cap and axially aligned first and second pressure chambers, one of which depends within a receptacle while the other projects above the cap. A reciprocable spray head or actuator is arranged to cooperate with plural pistons, one each of which are telescopically arranged in said first and second pressure chambers. Upper and lower valve members are available to control the emission of spray of the liquid. The upper valve is maintained closed by a spring element, and the lower valve is opened by reciprocation of the actuator to permit withdrawal of the liquid from the container so that it may pass through a bore provided between the plural pistons and in the pressure chambers and be emitted as a spray from the spray nozzle at the spray head. Said first pressure chamber has advantageously at least one elevational rib axially formed within an annular recess formed on the inside peripheral wall thereof for providing a gap between the piston and the first pressure chamber means to thereby smoothly pump the liquid in the liquid container to the nozzle through the pistons telescoped within the respective pressure chambers and liquid passage in the actuator.
