Conventional apparatuses suffer from too complicated structures and enlargement of the cost because of the complicated structures. A correction operation of an axial direction of correction operations in the two axial directions is performed such that only a movable centering spindle is moved in a direction intersecting a direction in which holding arms are extended/contracted. Another correction operation in another axial direction is performed by extending/contracting the holding arms.

摘要： A method of inspecting V-shaped grooves carried out in the following steps. Coordinates of points more than 20 per groove on a substrate formed with V-shaped grooves are measured with a stylus moving in directions perpendicular to longitudinal directions of the grooves. Measured data within distances at least 10 .mu.m from edges and groove bottoms of the grooves are removed from all data to find effective measuring segments. Shapes formed by straight lines are then calculated on the basis of the remaining data on effective measuring segments having a length of more than 40 .mu.m. A method of working V-shaped grooves is effected in the following steps. A circle having a diameter substantially equal to that of fibers to be supported in the groove is so drawn that the circle is inscribed in an interior of a V-shaped groove calculated by the above method. The V-shaped groove of a substrate is then worked, while errors in center position of the circle are fed-back into the working process of the groove of the substrate to compensate for depths and pitches of the V-shaped grooves being worked.

摘要： A gripping jig for assembling whereby a force is applied to a molded body in a direction perpendicular to an assembling direction. When an assembling load is applied to the molded body, the force is adjustable with an adjustment screw such that the molded body is guided to move in the assembling direction. Since the force is applied from a direction different from the assembling direction, the molded body can move in the assembling direction, and since the force is adjustable, application of the assembling load to the molded body and the movement of the molded body can be adjusted. Since a plurality of the molded bodies are fixed and assembled respectively, when there are variations in size of the molded bodies, an excessive assembling load is is avoided with each molded body guided to move, so that a more uniform assembling load is applied to the plurality of molded bodies.
