    • A wireless water flow monitoring and leak detection system and method are provided. The system includes a base station, a memory, and a central processing unit configured to control the operation of the system and to analyze stored data. A plurality of highly-sensitive wireless flow sensor nodes are each installed individually on a supply line of a water fixture in a facility having a plurality of water fixtures. The wireless flow sensor nodes can periodically read and store a data point corresponding to either a flow condition or a no flow condition occurring at the water fixture. A plurality of coordinator nodes are configured to wirelessly relay data between the plurality of wireless flow sensor nodes and the base station. The base station is configured to determine based on an analysis of the stream of data points whether a leak exists in any of the water fixtures, and if a leak is determined to exist, a maintenance alert is generated.

    • A drip edge device for a roof which includes a panel having top and bottom surfaces, the panel having an integrally formed flange protruding downwardly from the bottom surface, with the flange arranged so that an inner side can locate against a roof edge when an inner planar portion of the panel extends under roofing material adjacent the roof edge, and a lip also integrally formed with the device and positioned outwardly of the flange so as to form, together with the outer side of the flange and the bottom surface of an outer portion of the panel, a recess for a heating cable. At least one of the flange and lip are resilient and provide a restricted entry into the recess such that the recess can retain a heating cable sized to fit the recess when such cable has been pushed laterally into the recess.

    • A motor vehicle has a manually operated change speed gearbox driven by an internal combustion engine through a clutch which is automatically disengageable and re-engageable by operation of a power hydraulic clutch control. The hydraulic control comprises a fluid reservoir connected by a conduit to a control valve connected to the reservoir by a conduit which includes a pump and a one-way valve and a pressure accumulator and a piston and cylinder or fluid pressure operated actuator connected by piping to the control valve. The clutch is operated by the actuator causing disengagement of the clutch when the control valve is operated to relieve fluid pressure in the actuator. The hydraulic control is assembled and filled with hydraulic fluid at some place which can be distant from the vehicle manufacturer's production line. The filled control is transported to where the vehicle is being made and the control is installed in the vehicle; possibly after the filled control has been stored first.

    • A motor vehicle having a transmission comprising a clutch (14), a clutch control (18, 20) and a change-speed gearbox (12). The gearbox (12) has a plurality of mutually exclusively engageable gear ratios any desired one of which can be engaged by a manually operated gear lever (16) which comprises a shaft (33) pivoted at (34) and a hand knob (42) on a tube (40) rockably pivoted in force relatively to the shaft (33), a signal is sent to the clutch control (18, 20) causing automatic disengagement of the clutch (14). Further manual force on the tube (40) pivots the shaft (33) in direction (A) or (B) to the opposite side of a gear shift pattern. The clutch control (18, 20) receives a signal (54') that a new gear ratio has been engaged and automatically reengages the clutch (14). Clutch control (18, 20) includes a memory (68) which memorizes in which direction the gear lever (16) was pivoted to engage the currently engaged gear ratio, and disengagement of the clutch (14) when the tube (40) is rocked in the same direction as that in which the gear lever (16) was pivoted to cause the engagement of the currently engaged gear ratio.
