The method also includes setting up a plurality of scenarios under which vehicle driving conditions vary to be run on the road network model. The illustrative method includes receiving energy usage related data for a plurality of simulated vehicles run in at least one of the plurality of scenarios on the road network model. The method further includes calculating a total energy consumption for each of the vehicles. The method additionally includes repeating the receiving and calculating steps to determine how various elements of the road network model and scenarios effect vehicle energy consumption.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for operating a pre-crash sensing system for a first vehicle having a global positioning system (GPS). The method includes receiving an acquired GPS satellite identifier and generating first vehicle location data with the GPS system. The first vehicle location is transmitted along with the satellite identifier to a second vehicle across a wireless vehicle network. Location information is also received for a detected second vehicle. In response, the first vehicle transmits a request for updated second vehicle location information using a coordinating satellite identifier. The coordinating satellite identifier is then used by the second vehicle to update the second vehicle location data. In this way, both communicating vehicles are generating and sharing location information from a commonly acquired GPS source.

The first vehicle generates a data signal in response to an urgent event, a transponder signal from a second vehicle (72) or from an adaptive cruise control signal from the first vehicle. The first vehicle data signal includes a first position signal corresponding to a position of the vehicle and sensor signals from the first vehicle. The second vehicle (72) receives the data signal and determines a distance and vehicle trajectory from the vehicle data, the sensor signals and the position signals. A countermeasure is activated in response to the trajectory and the distance.

摘要： A system for providing weather conditions includes a server in communication with a weather data provision service. The server includes a middleware application operable to process weather data requests. The system also includes a gps module, and at least one component control system, operable to adjust at least one parameter associated with at least one vehicle component. Finally, the illustrative system includes a vehicle computing system, in communication with the GPS module, the at least one component control system, and the server. In response to a request for data from the component control system, the vehicle computing system passes GPS data to the server, including the request for data, and the vehicle computing system responsively receives the requested data from the server. The vehicle computing system relays the received data to the component control system that requested the data.
