    • Disclosed is a transmission line loaded dual-band monopole antenna, which realizes operation in dual bands with a single antenna. The dual-band monopole antenna includes a monopole antenna and a transmission line load. The monopole antenna has a signal feeding terminal and a load connection terminal. The load connection terminal is connected to the transmission line load. The transmission line load includes a core transmission line, an outer circumferential conductor, and a short-circuit section. The core transmission line has an antenna connection terminal and a short-circuit terminal. The antenna connection terminal is connected to the load connection terminal of the monopole antenna. The outer circumferential conductor circumferentially surrounds and is spaced from the core transmission line and the outer circumferential conductor has an open terminal and a short-circuit terminal. The opening of the open terminal of the outer circumferential conductor faces the antenna connection terminal of the core transmission line so that the outer circumferential conductor forms an open structure facing the monopole antenna.

    • A planar antenna structure is provided. The planar antenna includes a dielectric substrate, a ground plane, a first conductive pattern and a second conductive pattern. The dielectric substrate has a first surface and a second surface. The ground plane is on the second surface of the dielectric substrate. The first conductive pattern is on the first surface of the dielectric substrate, coupled to a feeding line. The second conductive pattern is on the second surface of the dielectric substrate, coupled to the ground plane. The first and second conductive patterns are coupled to serve as cascaded right- and left-handed transmission lines. The first and second conductive patterns include: a first lumped equivalent circuit of the right-handed transmission line; and a second lumped equivalent circuit of the left-handed transmission line, cascaded with the first lumped equivalent circuit, wherein the right- and left-handed transmission lines have electrical lengths with opposite signs respectively.

    • A printed monopole smart antenna is provided. The smart antenna includes a monopole antenna having a plane for receiving and transmitting a signal, two conductors for directing and/or reflecting the signal to the monopole antenna respectively, and a circuit device electrically connected between the first and second conductors, for selectively switching the first and second conductors to determine an operation mode of the smart antenna. The smart antenna further has at least a groove in the ground for concentrating the current distribution and solving the influence of the antenna gain to the ground size. The sequence of the antenna pattern of the smart antenna is randomly arranged, depending on user's situation. When a plurality of printed monopole smart antennas are disposed on different directions of the WLAN AP/router, the omnidirectional radiation pattern will be obtained and the antenna gain will be increased.

    • A compact single-to-balanced bandpass filter is proposed in this invention. Firstly, a pre-design circuit is presented, which is composed of an inductive coupled-line (ICL) bandpass filter and an out-of-phase capacitive coupled-line (CCL) bandpass filter. A novel compact circuit with three coupled lines configuration, derived from the pre-design circuit, is then proposed for miniaturizing the single-to-balanced bandpass filter. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed structure, a 2.4 GHz multilayer ceramic chip type single-to-balanced bandpass filter with size of 2.0 mm×1.2 mm×0.7 mm is developed. The filter is designed by using circuit simulation as well as full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation softwares, and fabricated by the use of low-temperature co-fire ceramic (LTCC) technology. The measured results agree quite well with the simulated. According to the measurement results, the maximum insertion loss is 1.65 dB, the maximum in-band phase imbalance is within 3 degrees, and the maximum in-band magnitude imbalance is less than 0.32 dB.

    • An antenna has a central core with a central coupling region. A pair of helix antenna lines is formed a surface of the central core.
