    • A multi-port antenna structure includes a plurality of electrically conductive elements arranged generally symmetrically about a central axis with a gap between adjacent electrically conductive elements. Each of the electrically conductive elements has opposite ends and a bent middle portion therebetween, with the bent middle portion being closer to the central axis than the opposite ends. Each of the electrically conductive elements is configured to have an electrical length selected to provide generally optimal operation within one or more selected frequency ranges. Each of a plurality of antenna ports is connected to adjacent electrically conductive elements across the gap therebetween such that each antenna port is generally electrically isolated from another antenna port at a given desired signal frequency range and the antenna structure generates diverse antenna patterns.

    • An antenna system supports a common resonance mode and differential resonance mode, each with approximately equal radiation resistance and bandwidth at a given operating frequency band. The antenna system includes a resonant antenna section, a counterpoise, and two antenna ports. The resonant antenna section includes two spaced-apart poles and a distributed network therebetween. Each of the poles has a proximal end connected to the distributed network and an opposite distal end. The distal ends of the poles are separated from each other by a distance of ⅓ to ⅔ of the electrical wavelength at the given operating frequency. Each of the two antenna ports is defined by a pair of feed terminals with one feed terminal located on the counterpoise and the other feed terminal located on a different one of the poles of the resonant antenna section. The resonant antenna section, counterpoise, and ports are configured such that a signal within the given operating frequency band applied to one port is isolated from the other port.

    • An optical transceiver antenna has a pair of cartridges supported by a pan/tilt mount. A lens at forward end of a cartridge interfaces light between an end of a light relay element retained by an axial deflection device and free space. The forward end of a cartridge also terminates first ends of actuator wires that are mutually rotationally displaced a distance of 90° from one another in a plane normal to a boresight axis of the antenna. The actuator wires have second wire terminations at the axial deflection device which are mutually rotationally displaced a distance of 90° from one another in a plane passing through the axial deflection device normal to the boresight axis. Heating currents are supplied to the actuator wires, causing their lengths to change, thereby flexing the axial deflection device and light relay element off boresight.
