摘要： Methods are presented to induce a screenout during a subterranean formation fracturing or combined fracturing and gravel packing treatment by laying down a filter cake early in the treatment, then injecting proppant slurry, and then while proppant slurry injection continues chemically damaging the filter cake with one or more filter cake degradation agents so that leak-off increases, the concentration of proppant in the fracture increases, and the proppant screens out. The additional use of filter cake degradation agent aids and bridging-promoting materials is included.

摘要： In downhole treatments in the oilfield, ball sealers seated in perforations may not fully seal and may leak fluid through gaps and asperities between the balls and the perforations. A method is given for improving the sealing of ball sealers in perforations by adding a sealing agent that forms a plug in the gaps and severely restricts or eliminates fluid flow. The sealing agent is preferably degradable or soluble, malleable fibers slightly larger than the gaps. Optionally, the particles may be non-degradable, rigid, of different shapes, and smaller than the gaps but able to bridge them. Mixtures of sealing agents may be used. The sealing agent may be added with the ball sealers, after the ball sealers, or both.

摘要： A temporary matrix is provided in treating a subterranean formation by providing a composition comprising a matrix forming material and a matrix degrading material. The matrix degrading material is capable of degrading the matrix after a period of time when subjected to existing or induced conditions of the subterranean formation. The composition is placed into a wellbore penetrating the subterranean formation. The composition is allowed to form a matrix within the wellbore, whereby the matrix at least one of significantly reduces the passage of fluid across or near the matrix or provides structural strength. A treatment operation is performed on the subterranean formation or wellbore and the degrading material is allowed to degrade the matrix.

摘要： A method for placing ball sealers within a well formed within a subterranean formation for sealing holes in a casing of the well is carried out by performing at least one of two operations. The first operation involves providing a tag with at least one ball sealer or a carrier fluid containing the at least one ball sealer to facilitate monitoring of the location of the ball sealer. A tag monitoring device is provided within the well for monitoring the location of the tag. The ball sealer and carrier fluid with the tag are introduced downhole into the well. Information from the monitor device regarding the location of the tag is communicated to a remote monitoring location to the thereby provide an indication of the location of the tag within the well to a surface location. In the second operation a container is provided within the well at a known location downhole within the well. The container contains at least one ball sealer. The ball sealer or sealers are released from the container within the well at the known location in response to an instruction initiated from a surface location.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for created multiple fractures in a subterranean formation with a single, continuous treatment operation. A plurality of burst disk assemblies are included, each having an independent burst pressure and corresponding to a specific interval to be treated, whereby the assemblies are arranged on a work or completion string such that the assembly with the lowest burst pressure is positioned at the toe, or lowest position, and subsequent assemblies have increasing burst pressures toward the heel of the string. As fluid is pumped down the string, pressure builds up to exceed the burst pressure of the first disk, allowing treatment fluid to contact the formation. Once a first interval treated or fractured, it may be isolated thereby allowing pressure to again build up in the string and burst subseqent disks.
