In a credit card transaction, the parties are the merchant (20), acquiring bank (24), card association (34), issuing bank (14), and cardholder (12). A transaction processing center (30) is positioned between the acquiring bank and the card association. The transaction processing center provides data processing channels for message-based processing (72) and filed-based processing (76). The file-based processing uses an incoming queue (80) and outgoing queue (84) to simplify the interface. The transaction processing center also provides for currency conversions and account reconciliation on a per transaction basis. The transaction processing center uses a scheduler (160) to efficiently manage the data processing resources.

摘要： A method for identifying and selecting novel substrates for enzymes is provided. The method comprises constructing a gene fusion comprising DNA encoding a polypeptide fused to DNA encoding a substrate peptide, which in turn is fused to DNA encoding at least a portion of a phage coat protein. The DNA encoding the substrate peptide is mutated at one or more codons thereby generating a family of mutants. The fusion protein is expressed on the surface of a phagemid particle and subjected to chemical or enzymatic modification of the substrate peptide. Those phagemid particles which have been modified are then separated from those that have not.

The zipper strips are flattened at the ends within the side seal regions and are joined to each other, without substantial deformation of the closure profiles, in respective transition areas substantially contiguous with the side seals. These transition areas of zipper strip joinder assist in providing a leakproof transition from the openable section of the zipper to the side seals, where the closure profiles are fused and flattened (i.e., crushed).
