摘要： An automatic disc player system with means for automatically selecting the disc and loading the disc on a turntable. A carrier assembly including a pickup means is slidable along a longitudinal axis of a disc holder portion in which the discs are arranged face to face on a longitudinal holder member. In order to load the disc on the turntable, a slider having a roller to guide the disc forces the same to a position of play where a clamper having a portion cooperative with the turntable catches the disc to load the same on the turntable. The operation of selecting and loading the disc is controlled by a microcomputer assisted control system.

摘要： An automatic disc loading apparatus for an information reproducing or recording/reproducing system in which pieces of information recorded on a record disc are to be reproduced or pieces of information are recorded on a record disc and thereafter reproduced. The apparatus comprises a casing structure into which the record disc is to be inserted in a predetermined direction along a predetermined plane substantially parallel with the predetermined direction toward a predetermined position within the casing structure. The casing structure is formed with a slot elongated in a direction substantially perpendicular to the aforesaid predetermined direction. A disc guide is provided comprising a pair of disc guide members movable toward and away from each other within the casing structure and in the neighborhood of the above mentioned slot substantially symmetrically with respect to the above mentioned predetermined direction. The record disc is passed between the disc guide members when being inserted in the predetermined direction into the casing structure through the slot. A drive is operative to drive the disc guide members for movement toward or away from each other.

摘要： A record player comprises a player cabinet and a slide base supporting a turntable and movably mounted in the player cabinet for movement into and out of the latter. The record player also includes a front door movably supported by the player cabinet for movement between a vertical position in which the front door closes an open front face of the player cabinet and a horizontal position within the player cabinet. When the front door is opened, it is withdrawn back into the player cabinet so that the front door will not interfere with operator's activities to manipulate the record player. The front door may be pivotably supported by swing levers so that the front door can easily be opened and closed without striking a top plate of the player cabinet. The front door may be actuated by a mechanism operatively connected to a substantially central portion of the front door laterally thereof for smoothly actuating the front door without distorting the front door while it is being opened or closed. The slide base may support thereon a slide base drive mechanism for selectively actuating the front door and the slide base in a timed relationship to each other.

In one embodiment, a substantially amorphous grain boundary layer of a magnetic recording layer made of CoCrPt alloy and Si oxide contains a ferromagnetic element in a concentration from about 30 at. % to 50 at. % or more preferably from about 35 at. % to 47 at. %, so that intergrain exchange interaction takes place moderately. As a consequence, SNR of 18 dB or more and thermal stability of 3%/decade or less are achieved.
