摘要： The invention relates to new cationic surfactants based on quaternary ammonium compounds corresponding to the general formulaR.sup.1 -CHOH-CHR.sup.2 -N.sup.+ R.sup.3 R.sup.4 R.sup.5 R.sup.6 CO.sub.2.sup.- (1)whereinR.sup.1 is a linear or branched alkyl residue having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms;R.sup.2 is hydrogen or a linear or branched alkyl residue having from 1 to 21 carbon atoms, the total number of carbon atoms of the substituents R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 being in the range of from 8 to 22;R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each represent methyl, ethyl, 2-hydroxyethyl or 2-hydroxypropyl;R.sup.5 represents an alkyl residue having from 4 to 6 carbon atoms or a phenalkyl residue having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the alkyl residue; andR.sup.6 represents a linear or branched alkyl residue having from 4 to 15 carbon atoms.The cationic surfactants have particular utility in cleaning agents.
