摘要： A breathing mask worn by a firefighter or by another wearer in a hazardous environment exposing the wearer potentially to heat and/or flame as well as to smoke and/or other chemical and/or biological agents is provided with an air filter, which is contained in a canister having an air inlet or air inlets and being connected to the breathing mask via a conduit, and with a protective cover for the conduit and for the canister. The protective cover comprises a fabric shell, which covers the conduit, essentially as far as the breathing mask, and which covers the canister, except that the fabric shell has an air inlet or air inlets communicating with the air inlet or air inlets of the canister. The fabric shell is made from a heat-resistant, flame-resistant fabric, preferably an aluminized fabric, such as an aluminized knit comprising approximately 33% polybenzimidazole fibers and approximately 67% polyparaphenylene terephthalamide fibers. A flame-resistant mesh, preferably made from polybenzimidazole fibers, is interposed between the air inlet or air inlets of the fabric shell and the air inlet or air inlets of the canister.

摘要： A garment, such as a coat, shirt, or jacket, for a firefighter, a rescue worker, a forestry worker, or another worker having to carry a rope has a back portion and two front portions, each front portion extending from the back portion at one side of the garment. A back pocket extending at least substantially across the back portion, between the sides of the garment, is adapted to carry a rope placed in a zigzag pattern. A front pocket extending at least partially across one of the front portions of the garment communicates with the back pocket, through a slit in the garment, so that a rope carried within the back pocket is removable through the slit and through the front pocket. A front flap overlies the front pocket and the slit. The back pocket is accessible from the interior of the garment and the front pocket is accessible from the exterior of the garment. A strip coacting with the back portion to define the back pocket has an upper edge and a lower edge. The lower edge is affixed to the back portion of the garment, at least substantially across the back portion of the garment, and the upper edge is fastened removably to the back portion of the garment via a hook-and-loop fastener extending at least substantially across the back portion of the garment. A liner of the garment is displaceable to permit access to the back pocket. In an alternative embodiment, which is similar otherwise, the back pocket is an exterior pocket.

The covering portion(s) is/are of sufficient area whereby the surface area of each of the covering portions(s) is/are greater than the respective aperture area.

Each of the sleeve sections when attached to the body section has an upper portion provided with a given length dimension and a lower portion provided with a length dimension greater than the given length dimension of the upper portion of the sleeve section. Therefore, the arms of the firefighter who wears the firefighter's coat can be freely moved as the sleeve sections are moved without appreciable strain between the sleeve sections and the body section and without significant responsive movement of the body section of the firefighter's coat. Therefore, stress upon the firefighter as a result of arm movement is minimal.

摘要： A firefighter's hood which covers the upper portion of a firefighter. The hood normally has a shoulder section and a neck section and a head section, to cover those portions of the firefighter. The head section covers the head of the firefighter and has an opening to expose the face of the firefighter. The major part of the head section is made of thermal barrier material having given heat insulation qualities. However, the head section has an upper part which is adapted to be positioned at the upper portion of the head of the firefighter who wears the hood. The upper part of the head section of the hood has significantly less heat insulation qualities, so that heat can escape from the head of the firefighter and thus stress upon the firefighter which results from heat is reduced.
