    • A photosensitive material drying device having a plurality of far infrared radiation heaters disposed in facing relationship so as to meet at right angles to the direction in which an exposed film is conveyed. The density of the film is measured before the film is heated by the far infrared radiation heaters. Upon heating of the film by the far infrared radiation heaters, the surface temperature of each of the far infrared radiation heaters is changed by a variable resistor in accordance with the measured density to thereby vary the amount of heat applied to the film. It is therefore possible to satisfactorily dry the film in accordance with a variation in the density of the film.

    • A silver halide photographic material comprising a support, and at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing silver halide grains on the support, wherein the silver halide grains have an internal area formed in at least one corner of the grains, the internal area having a silver iodide content higher than the silver iodide content of the circumferential area of the grains. A process for producing a silver halide photographic material which comprises the steps of: (1) adding a first solution containing iodide ions to a second solution containing silver iodobromide host grains; (2) adding the third solution containing silver ions to the mixture from step (1) to form silver halide grains wherein the silver halide grains have (a) an internal area formed in a corner, the internal area having a silver iodide content higher than the silver iodide content of the circumferential area of the grains; and (b) more than 95% of the total projected area of the silver halide grains is tabular silver halide grains, the tabular silver halide grains having (i) two sheets of twin planes parallel to the principal plane, and (ii) a monodisperse size distribution.

    • A color diffusion transfer photographic element containing a compound having a sulfinic acid group or a slat thereof is disclosed. The element is comprised of a photosensitive element and an alkaline processing composition element. The sufinic acid group or a salt thereof includes a compound represented by the general formula (Y-SO.sub.2).sub.n M wherein M is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl metal atom, an alkaline earth metal atom, an ammonium group, or an organic base; Y is an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an aryl group or a substituted aryl group, and n is 1 or 2. By utilizing the compound within the processing solution it is possible to prevent the deterioration of processing composition which occurs when the material is stored for a long period of time.
