An outer joint member of a constant velocity joint is fitted to an inner periphery of a wheel hub, and the outer joint member and the wheel hub are united by plastic deformation in radially outward direction of a stem part of the outer joint member. The outer joint member is made of a steel material chiefly comprising iron, 0.5 to 0.7 weight % of carbon, 0.1 to 1.5 weight % of silicon, 0.6 to 1.0 weight % of manganese, and inevitable impurities.

摘要： A wheel bearing assembly has a disk rotor for a brake integrally formed with a wheel-mounting flange of an inner member. Raceways opposite double-row raceways of the outer member are arranged on separate ring members pressed onto a tubular portion of the inner member. Thus, it is unnecessary to mount a brake rotor to the wheel bearing assembly, to reduce the number of parts, and to use different materials for the inner member and the inner ring members. For example, an FC-family cast iron, which is superior in seizure resistance, can be used for the inner member, and a tough bearing steel can be used for the ring member to achieve both excellent brake function and bearing function.

A heat-affected zone incident to the quench-hardened inner raceway of the outer joint member may also be formed continuously with a heat-affected zone incident to quench-hardened ball grooves of the outer joint member.

摘要： A cold forged pulsar ring (1) which comprises a ring body (1a) having inner and outer peripheral surfaces. A plurality of circumferentially spaced gear teeth (2) are integrally formed by the use of a cold forging process with one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the ring body (1a) so as to protrude radially of the ring body (1a). Each of the gear teeth (2) is so profiled as to have a substantially trapezoidal shape having a tooth angle (.theta.) not smaller than 5.degree., but not greater than 15.degree.. With this design, not only can a cold forging process be employed to manufacture the pulsar ring (1), but also a required output voltage can be secured from a sensor of the rotation detecting device in which the pulsar ring (1) is operatively employed.

摘要： To provide a rotation detecting device with a function of transmitting a rotational speed detection signal wireless and enable the rotation detecting device to be assembled compact in size without requiring any anti-rusting treatment to a multi-pole magnet assembly and a magnetic ring assembly, the rotation detecting device includes an electric power generator (11) for generating an electric power by a relative rotation between a non-rotatable member (1) and a rotatable member (7). The electric power generator (11) includes a multi-pole magnet assembly (13) and a magnetic ring assembly (12). A wireless transmission device (14) for transmitting the rotational speed detection signal outputted by the electric power generator (11) is employed. A sealing member (18) is also employed for sealing a working space delimited between the non-rotatable member (1) and the rotatable member (7), and the multi-pole magnet assembly (13) and the magnetic ring assembly (12) of the electric power generator (11) confront with each other at a location inwardly of the sealing member (18). The sealing member (18) is mounted on the magnetic ring assembly (12) or the wireless transmission device (14) of an annular configuration.

The wheel bearing unit for rotatably supporting a car wheel on the body of a motor vehicle comprises a rotary member, an outer ring, and double rows of rolling elements. The rotary member comprises a hub wheel to which a car wheel is attached and an inner ring press-fitted to the outer circumference of the smaller end face of the hub wheel, wherein double rows of raceway surfaces are formed in the outer circumferential surfaces of the hub wheel and the inner ring, respectively. The outer ring has double rows of raceway surfaces formed therein so as to be opposite to the raceway surfaces of the hub wheel and the inner ring, and is fixedly coupled to a car-body-side knuckle. The double rows of rolling elements are interposed between the raceway surfaces of the hub wheel, the inner ring, and the outer ring. In this construction, at least the hub wheel and the inner ring are each made of a carbon steel containing 0.60 to 0.80 wt % of carbon, and a surface hardened layer is formed in the predetermined area thereof by a high-frequency quenching technique.

A film is disposed between the brake rotor-mounting surface of the wheel mounting flange and an abutment surface of a brake rotor to fill a gap therebetween to suppress the deformation of the brake rotor. Also, by concentrating the contact force between the wheel-mounting flange and the brake rotor when a disc wheel of the wheel is tightened to the hub bolts to a portion near the hub bolts, the contact between the wheel-mounting flange and the brake rotor on the surfaces between the hub bolts is suppressed so that undulation of the flat surfaces between the hub bolts will not cause deformation of the brake rotor.
