摘要： In an image forming apparatus, a separating unit separates each laser beam into a first laser beam used for measuring light intensity and a second laser beam used for scanning a photosensitive element, a photoelectric converting unit measures a light intensity of each of the first laser beams and outputs a voltage indicative of the light intensity. A control unit controls a light intensity of each of the laser beams based on a common drive current and a corresponding one of a current correction value, which is set by each of the laser beams to correct a light intensity of a corresponding one of the laser beams based on a corresponding one of the voltages output by the photoelectric converting unit.

摘要： A novel image processing system includes a pixel position indicator and a pixel inserting unit. The pixel position indicator is configured to indicate insertion positions in the image data. The pixel inserting unit is configured to enlarge a size of the image data by inserting an additional pixel at each of the insertion positions and accordingly shifting the original pixels in a given direction. The additional pixel has a value lower than a given threshold. Each insertion position is at an approximate center of an area formed of pixels having values higher than the given threshold. A novel image forming apparatus incorporates such an image processing system and an electrophotographic system. The electrophotographic system is configured to form an image by irradiating a photoconductive surface with a laser beam according to the processed image data.

摘要： A plurality of process cartridges, each including an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, and a process device actable on the photosensitive drum, are detachably mountable to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus for forming an image of a recording medium. The image forming apparatus includes an opening and closing member; an intermediate transfer member or a recording medium bearing member provided in the opening and closing member such that the intermediate transfer member can face the process cartridges under a condition in which the opening and closing member is closed, and the intermediate transfer member can be separated from the process cartridges under a condition in which the opening and closing member is open; and a moving guide for holding the process cartridges. The moving guide is moved in interlocking relationship with a closing motion of the opening and closing member from a load position, to which the process cartridges are loaded, to a mount position, in which the process cartridges are capable of performing an image forming operation, such that the process cartridges mounted to the load position can be moved to the mount position.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image bearer bearing a static image and an exchangeable type developing apparatus for developing the static image on the image bearer. The developing apparatus includes a developing chamber having a developing roller in an opening opposite to the image bearer, and a containing chamber containing a developer to be supplied to the developing chamber. A detection electrode is disposed outside the developing device and in which a voltage is induced. A detection device detects an amount of the developer in the containing chamber on the basis of an induced voltage in the detection electrode.
