    • An apparatus, a wildfire protection method for houses and other structures from the destructive forces of a wildland fire. The current form of the preferred embodiment consists of a highly fireproof material, which is pre-fitted to cover each area of structure including gables or dormers one section at a time. The material is contained on a fireproof deployment apparatus such as a roller means having a retractable mechanism. The deployment apparatus is contained and secured within a housing, this housing being supported by firmly mounting it to strategic areas of the architectural structure. Once installed, deployment of the fireproof covering material is accomplished by unrolling the material from one side of the fireproof deployment apparatus. Each pre-fitted section of fireproof material contains reinforced edges, which are fitted with multiple fasteners by which to attach one section of said fireproof material to another as each is deployed from a series of apparatus. Each section of material is deployed in sequence and fastened to other nearby sections. The fireproof material once deployed by sections and fastened over the entire structure will provide protection from the high heat and burning embers associated with wildfires. Total structure coverage is accomplished very quickly by using several of these apparatus in series, each of which are strategically attached to the structure architecture.

    • An arrangement of sewing successive edges of material which extend in two directions. The arrangement comprises a stationary sewing table having a prescribed sewing area. The sewing table supports a carriage. A sewing machine is supported by the carriage. Drives are provided for the carriage and the sewing machine and are operative to move the carriage selectively in the X and Y directions while operating the sewing machine to sew. A material feeding assembly having an independent drive is provided to feed material into the sewing area and to maintain the fed material in the sewing area in a flat fixed position for a prescribed period of time. A control operates to actuate the feeding assembly to position the material, to actuate the sewing machine to sew and to actuate the carriage carrying the sewing machine to move in the X and Y directions about the sewing area forming automatically a folded fabric having all edges stitched.

    • A method and apparatus for controlling information to be displayed on a vehicle reconfigurable display includes the steps of prioritizing information. The control identifies each of the items which are desirably displayed and determines the space necessary to display all of those items. If the necessary space exceeds available space, then the control goes through a routine wherein it attempts to minimize the size of the display items, and prioritize the display items. Certain items must always be displayed, whereas other items need only be optionally displayed. The control may identify certain optional items as not to be displayed under certain circumstances. Further, the control may select between available sizes for other items to provide additional space.

    • A motorized surgical handpiece comprises a housing enclosing an interior containing a motor and an output shaft for being driven in rotation by the motor.
