    • A sheet processing apparatus includes a first detector configured to detect a leading edge of a sheet conveyed in a conveying direction, a second detector provided on a downstream side of the first detector in the sheet conveying direction to detect the leading edge of the sheet conveyed, a punching portion, in the downstream side of the first detector in the sheet conveying direction, to move in a sheet width direction crossing the sheet conveying direction and perform a punching process for the sheet, an edge detector configured to move in the width direction together with the punching portion and detect the edge of the sheet conveyed in the width direction, and a controller, on the basis of at least either of information of a conveying speed of the sheet and a sheet length in the conveying direction, when the edge detector starts movement in the width direction after the first or second detector detects the leading edge of the sheet, to judge whether the edge detector can detect the edge of the sheet or not, as a result of the judgment, selecting the detector positioned on the most downstream side in the conveying direction among the first and second detectors which can be used, and when the selected first or second detector detects the leading edge of the sheet conveyed, permitting the edge detector to start movement to detect the edge of the sheet in the width direction.

    • A sheet processing apparatus comprises a first conveyer roller pair arranged at the upstream side of a sheet conveyance route and a second conveyer roller pair arranged at the downstream side of the sheet conveyance route so as to convey a sheet of paper from the upstream side to the downstream side. Additionally, a punching unit is arranged between the first conveyer roller pair and the second conveyer roller pair. The second conveyer roller pair is made to operate as a slipping roller after the time when the leading end of the sheet of paper being conveyed passes the first conveyer roller pair and a stopper is made to appear at a position downstream relative to the second conveyer roller pair so as to make the leading end of the sheet of paper abut the stopper in order correct the skew, if any, of the sheet of paper.

    • According to one embodiment, an decoloring apparatus includes: an decoloring processing unit configured to apply decoloring processing decoloring a color of an decolorable colorant; a sheet conveying unit configured to convey a sheet and cause the sheet to pass through the decoloring processing unit; an image reading unit arranged further on an upstream side than the decoloring processing unit in a sheet conveying direction by the sheet conveying unit and configured to read an image formed on the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveying unit; a thickness sensor arranged further on the upstream side than the decoloring processing unit in the sheet conveying direction by the sheet conveying unit and configured to detect thickness of the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveying unit; an decolorability determining unit configured to determine, on the basis of a detection result in at least one of the image reading unit and the thickness sensor, executability of the decoloring processing in the decoloring processing unit of the sheet set as a detection target; a storing unit configured to store information indicating a number of sheets determined as decoloring processing unexecutable by the decolorability determining unit; and a display control unit configured to cause a display to screen-display the information stored in the storing unit indicating the number of sheets determined as decoloring processing unexecutable by the decolorability determining unit.
