    • A technique for providing a segmented electrostatic lens in an ion implanter is disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the technique may be realized as an electrostatic lens for use in an ion implanter. The lens may comprise an entrance electrode biased at a first voltage potential, wherein an ion beam enters the electrostatic lens through the entrance electrode. The lens may also comprise an exit electrode biased at a second voltage potential, wherein the ion beam exits the electrostatic lens through the exit electrode. The lens may further comprise a suppression electrode located between the entrance electrode and the exit electrode, the suppression electrode comprising a plurality of segments that are independently biased to manipulate an energy and a shape of the ion beam.

    • The present invention provides a portable water bottle and dish assembly and method for using same that provides a human or pet with a readily accessible water bottle disposed within a delivery dish. The portable water bottle and dish assembly broadly comprises a bottle having a top and body portions with an outer shell and an internal chamber that is removably attached and housed within a delivery dish. The delivery dish is configured in size and shape to provide access to a pet for drinking therefrom. Optionally, the bottle comprises an insulating internal chamber adapted to insulate liquid housed therein, keeping the liquid at a constant temperature for a period of time. Alternatively, the delivery dish comprises an insulating interior compartment adapted to insulate liquid. The present invention also provides a cup, wherein the bottle is disposed in the cup and both are integrally housed within the delivery dish.

    • A breakable odor control additive provides release of fragrance or odor masking scent when present in a litter formulation that is used by a cat or other animal within a litter box. The odor control additive comprises a plurality of fragrant-scented balls. Each of the balls has a central, compressible, porous, open-celled substrate, which is saturated with a fragrant scent. This central, fragrance-saturated substrate is coated with a barrier coating, which prevents evaporation of the fragrance and protects the substrate against deterioration by urine and other contaminants deposited on the litter. When cat or animal enters the litter box, a load is applied to the fragrant-scented balls. The barrier coating breaks, exposing the fragrant coated substrate. Fragrance evaporating from the substrate provides odor control and a pleasant scent.

    • A safety syringe includes a means for retracting a used needle within the syringe, sealing the syringe and locking the plunger in a retracted position requiring only conventional syringe manipulation. Accidental contact with a used needle or syringe contents is thereby prevented such that the syringe can be safely discarded in a conventional manner. A needle clamp augmentation to the front surface of the syringe plunger is engageable with the needle head portion of a hollow needle releasingly mounted to the syringe. A sealant cavity formed proximate to the needle end of the syringe contains a sealing compound. A sealant cavity cover prevents migration of the sealing compound into the syringe cylinder. Fully depressing the plunger causes the needle clamp to engage the needle head portion. Retracting the plunger dislodges and retracts the needle, drawing a sealing means about the gap left by the retracted needle and preventing fluid leakage. A locking clamp preferably extending from the inner surface of the syringe engages a sufficiently retracted plunger thereby preventing subsequent plunger depression.
