    • An alarm system for rolling shutter comprised of plurality of alarm sensors is described. An alarm sensor is comprised of a conductive wire that is threaded within a slat and is connected in both sides to slat edge elements. The slat edge elements have a moving electrical contact that can be pulled out towards the inner wall of the shutter rail by a magnet. In selected heights along the rails, on both rails, a rail electric element comprising a magnet and a rail electrical contact are installed. A wire is connected from each rail electrical contact to an alarm control box. When the slat, which includes the slat-wire, is positioned in the same height as the rail electric elements, the moving contact on the slat makes a contact with the rail electric contact, thus creating a continuous electrical circuit from one rail electrical contact, through the slat, to the second rail electric contact. An attempt to move a slat, move the rails or cut the slat, will open the electrical circuit and generate an alarm, signal. An attempt to bypass the electrical circuit is detected by the change in the line resistance.

    • A roll-up shutter is formed of numerous, identical, horizontally elongated slats each having a pair of oppositely and downwardly extended hooks formed on its upper edge and a downwardly opening groove on its lower edge for receiving the hooks of the next adjacent slat. The lower edges of the walls forming the groove in each slat are bent inwardly and upwardly to provide inner channels. The pair of hooks of one slat are normally engaged within the corresponding pair of channels of the next adjacent slat. The hook and channel on one side of each slat are arranged at a higher level than the corresponding hook and channel on the other side of each slat. When the shutter is opened, to cover a window or doorway opening, the engaged hooks and slats, which extend substantially along the full width of the shutter, form horizontally arranged, bar-like reinforcements for the shutter. When the shutter is rolled-up, the slats pivot about the hook and channel engagements located at the inner curvature of the rolled shutter while the hooks and channels located on the outer curvature of the rolled shutters move apart to permit pivoting.

    • A solar protection device for sun roofs of motor vehicles is provided. The solar protection device includes at least a first lamella and a second lamella which are moved along two guides between an open position and a closed position, the two guides arranged between two guiding profiles which are generally parallel. The invention comprises at least a portion of each lamella arranged in a slanted position with respect to the guides and a mechanism for stacking the slanted portions of each lamella upon each other in the open position. The mechanism for stacking includes at least one link block for moving along the guides, the slanted portions being arranged to form ventilation gaps between adjacent front edges of a second lamella and rear edges of a first lamella in the closed position.

    • In a method for extruding an aluminum slat for a roller shutter with an undercut slot extending along one edge of the slat and formed by spaced apart front and rear members extending from the body of the slat, breakage of the part of the extrusion die which forms the slot is prevented by forming the slot in two steps. In the first step, the slat is extruded through a die which forms the front member in a position angled outwardly, so that the portion of the extruding die corresponding to the opening of the undercut slot can be made thick enough to withstand the extruding pressure without breaking. The front member is then bent back by a rolling operation to its desired position relative to the rear member.

    • A rolling shutter comprises bar-shaped elements which are hooked together by mortise and tenon-type joints in laterally contiguous relation to form a curtain which can be rolled up upon a drum above the lintel of a doorway or the like, the bars consist of synthetic-resin hollow profiles and the mortise is formed with a groove in which a flange of the tenon of the overlying bar engages to rigidify the curtain when the same is fully rolled.
