    • Disclosed is a ramp-platform device for an on-board relocatable small vehicle inspection system. The ramp-platform device includes a connection frame having a rectangular shape and defining therein an inner space, first and second intermediate parts which are disposed in parallel with each other and at two opposite sides of the connection frame, first to fourth ramp parts having a substantially triangle shaped longitudinal section. The first and second ramp parts are removably connected to the two opposite ends of the first intermediate part separately, and the third and fourth ramp parts are removably connected to the two opposite ends of the second intermediate part separately. The height of a top end of the first to the fourth ramp parts is substantially equal to the height of the first and second intermediate parts. When it is not in use, the ramp-platform device may be placed on the scanning vehicle of the moving device in a disassembling and folding conditions, and when it is under inspection, the vehicle to be inspected is raised to a predetermined height by assembling and spreading the ramp-platform device, so that a chassis and wheels of the small vehicle may be entered into the scanning range to achieve the inspection of each part of the small vehicle.

In the illustrative embodiment, the system includes a ramp that is coupled to the vessel and an interface that is attached to the stationary platform. The ramp is coupled to the vessel in such a way as to permit one translational and three rotational degrees of freedom at the vessel-end of the ramp. The ramp is coupled to the interface in such a way as to permit no translational and at least one rotational degree-of-freedom at the rig-end of the ramp with respect to the interface. The interface is rotatably coupled to the stationary platform in such a way as to permit a rotation of the interface about the yaw axis. Permitted rotation of the interface enables a range of acceptable angles of orientation between the vessel and the platform.

A tensioner is coupled to the environmental barrier and creates a vertical tension in the environmental barrier in an upward direction such that a) when the deck is in the raised position, both the first section and the second section are in vertical tension; b) when the deck is in the lowered position, both the first section and the second section are in less vertical tension than they are when the deck is in the raised position; and c) when the deck is in the intermediate position, the first section is in appreciably greater vertical tension than the second section such that there is a discrete incremental difference in vertical tension in the environmental barrier.

    • The invention as presently conceived discloses a variable length ramp system attachable to a standard pickup truck that assists with the loading of all-terrain vehicles (ATV's), small tractors, yard equipment, golf carts, and similar items. The length of each ramp can vary independently with the other from a minimum of approximately four feet to a maximum of eight feet. The extension is similar to that of an extension ladder in which once piece slides inside the other. A textile strap with connectors provides further securement of the ramps with the truck body. When not in use, the ramps can be collapsed and stored in minimal space.

    • A safety system for a truck loading dock with an elevated platform provides an alarm that warns of a hazard at the loading dock such as a forklift operating inside the truck or a falling hazard that may exist due to the dock door being open while a truck is not present at the dock. In cases where a dock's open doorway is protected by a barrier that can be opened or closed, the alarm can be de-activated by closing the barrier. In some examples, the safety system includes a remote body sensor that detects when someone or something is near the doorway. In response to the body sensor, a second, more pronounced alarm can warn of more imminent danger where someone on the platform may be too close to an open doorway when a truck is not present.
