摘要： A striker assembly for attachment to the rotor lobe of a rotary hog for impact fragmentation, cutting and shearing action. The striker assembly includes a striker plate having a body portion attachable to the rotor lobe by means of screwthreaded connectors with the top portion of the striker plate extending radially beyond the rotor periphery. The striker plate has an offset ledge for receiving one or more striker bits which are clamped thereto by appropriate bolts and which include protrusions on the rear face thereof in engagement with mating recesses in the striker plate face. Each striker bit is symmetrical around a central longitudinal plane with opposed cutting edges running the length of the bit. The bit is removable and may be rotated 180.degree. allowing alternate use of the cutting edges. The bit includes forward faces adjacent the cutting edges which are disposed at an angle to the front and rear faces of the bit so as to provide an aggressive cutting edge. When mounted on the striker plate, and depending upon the orientation of the striker plate, a rake angle of 0.degree.-25.degree. is formed. In one embodiment, the striker plate is wedge shaped for disposing the cutting edges of the striker bits at an angle relative to the rotational axis of the rotor to exert a shearing action on the material before impact with an anvil.

摘要： A cutter device is provided for being attached to an end of a movable working arm of a self-propelled vehicle for clearing and mulching trees. The cutter device includes a rotatably mounted drum with a plurality of spaced cutter teeth attached to an exterior of the drum for engaging and grinding the trees. A shield covers a portion of the drum and contains the deflection of wood debris outwardly from the drum during operation. The shield has an interior wall spaced apart from the cutter teeth and cooperating with the rotating drum to define a debris flow path through the device. At least one deflector plate is attached to the interior wall of the shield. The deflector plate extends inwardly into the debris flow path in a direction towards the cutter teeth of the drum. The interior wall of the shield and the deflector plate collectively form a mulch zone in an area between the cutter teeth and the shield and upstream of the deflector plate for slowing the movement of debris along the flow path, and deflecting the debris back into contact with the cutter teeth for being further cut and reduced in size.

摘要： A bottle crushing machine having a feed chamber, at the bottom of which is located a crusher disk. The disk includes a set of beater bars extending upward into the feed chamber to intercept falling bottles and initially shatter them. Near the surface of the disk are cross bars that further crush the glass fragments. The disk is situated in a portion of the feed chamber under the upper surface of an expanded portion of the chamber. The only route for glass fragments to exit the chamber is between the disk and the upper surface of the expanded portion, between the side walls of the expanded portion and the outer edge of the disk, to an area below the disk. By relative movement of the disk in the vertical direction, the gap between the disk and the upper surface will be varied, adjusting the size of fragments that are created.

摘要： A lamp crushing machine comprises a casing which may be divided into upper, central and lower zones. Lamps which are to be disposed of are loaded into the upper zone. In the central zone there is a horizontally mounted drum with a number of radial vanes and possibly also circumferential vanes. When this drum is rotated the lamps are progressively broken by the shearing action of the vanes as they pass close by the edges of walls which project inwardly from the casing. Unbreakable parts such as lamp and caps are carried around the drum in pockets arranged between the vanes. The debris falls into a hopper in the lower zone which can be removed and emptied periodically. Throughout operation of the machine the lamps are doused by water issuing from a nozzle to quench any igniting sodium. Dangerous vapors pass out through special vents and other contaminents are filtered out of the water draining from the machine. The drum can be rotated manually by means of a handle but is preferably rotated rapidly by an electrical motor.

摘要： An apparatus is disclosed wherein a highly viscous, heat-sensitive material such as concentrated whole milk or concentrated fruit juice is supplied onto a plural-stage belt conveyor stretched within a vacuum chamber and is dried and solidified by means of a heating member while moving along the belt conveyor. The resulting dried material is received by a fixed cutter provided within a casing disposed at the turning point where the belt conveyor is to turn to the return stroke side. This dried material is then crushed by a crushing device equipped with said fixed cutter and a rotary cutter cooperating therewith, and the thus crushed material is let fall within the casing and discharged to the outside of the vacuum chamber by means of a discharging device equipped with a screw wing installed in the lower part of the casing.

Preferably, the feeding means consists of a U-shaped clamp, the portion bridging the legs of the clamp being spaced from and extending in parallel to the axis of rotation of said feeding means, said carrier means being disposed on said portion and projecting radially outwards.

摘要： The shredding unit comprises a horizontal drum mounted transversely within a cage having a front feed opening. Knives are rigidly fixed on the circumference of the drum which is partially surrounded by an evacuation grid having calibrated holes. In the active or work position, backing knives placed in alignment at each end of the grid and opposite to the drum project inwards from the grid while the knives of the drum pass in the immediate vicinity. Each backing knife is mounted at the extremity of a support plate and is capable of withdrawing under excessive pressure in opposition to a jack which urges the backing knife towards the active position.

摘要： Apparatus for destroying medical syringes, or the like articles, comprises a plurality of spaced stationary members having serrations over a portion of a given surface thereof and a plurality of rotatable members, preferably round and preferably serrated around the whole periphery thereof, mounted between adjacent stationary members, an entrance path being formed between the rotatable and stationary members. The entrance path tapers from an entrance dimension larger than the maximum lateral dimension of the syringe to a dimension at least substantially smaller than the maximum dimension. Further provided is a cartridge arrangement for the apparatus and a unique feeding arrangement to insure that the syringes, or the like articles, properly enter the entrance path.
