摘要： A motor vehicle seat with a longitudinal guide that has a locking device. The seat has a backrest which has a release lever for tilting the seat forward. The operation of the release lever releases the backrest from a normally upright position and allows it to be tipped forward. The backrest is connected to the locking device of the longitudinal guide by means of a release mechanism so that when backrest is tipped forward, the locking device can be released and the motor vehicle seat can be moved manually in the longitudinal guide. Alternatively, if the backrest is in the upright position, the locking device is either ready to be operated, or in the process of operating. A memory device is provided for finding a position where the locking device was previously engaged following the longitudinal movement of the seat along the guide.

摘要： An adjustable seat assembly comprises a horizontal seat. A pedestal is secured to the seat in a downwardly and forwardly inclined position and is secured to a carriage having two spaced frames extending around two elevated parallel rails. One frame has a top bar normally bearing on tops of the rails and a bottom bar spaced from the undersides of the rails. The other frame has a top bar spaced from the tops of the rails, and a bottom bar abutting the undersides of the rails and carrying a catch member which normally engages in one of a plurality of holes in the underside of the rails. When the seat is raised forwardly, the catch member disengages from the hole to permit longitudinal movement of the seat carriage along the rails.

摘要： A three-way, handle-operated, wall-avoiding, recliner chair with dual footrests. From closed position, the chair is operated to TV position by means of a handle connected to the footrest mechanism. The handle is also connected to a rear seat mounting link to move the seat forwardly to the base during which time a restraining mechanism prevents the backrest from moving relative to the seat. Once in the TV position, the restraining mechanism is no longer effective, and the occupant may exert pressure on the backrest to recline the seat further relative to the base while also moving the backrest forwardly relative to the seat as well as the base to avoid striking any nearby wall. Novel linkage mechanisms are provided for carrying out the above, and a spring mechanism is provided to lock the footrest closed against inadvertent actuation such as when the chair is being relocated and is being pulled by its armrests.
