    • A portable fire curtain system to provide a cloak to cover a vented opening. When deployed it will alleviate the incoming wind, which is fueling the fire. The fire curtain is made of one sheet of a fire resistant or fire proof material that is folded and sewn together. Encapsulated within the fire curtain are 6 bars of high-tempered aluminum bars running laterally. Each corner of the fire curtain has holes that are drilled through the top and bottom bars. Four 5 foot cable leaders with loops, (one to each corner) will be secured to these holes. Two 40 foot ropes with snaps on all ends will be connected to these cable leaders to be used in the deployment. The ropes are packed in two rope deployment bags in order to prevent the ropes from tangling.

    • A sealing device for use in a sealed double glazed window assembly is described and consists of a pair of glass sheets arranged in spaced parallel relationship to form an air space therebetween and of a spacing unit disposed between the inner marginal edges of the glass sheets. The device comprises a flexible plug that fits into holes made in the spacing unit. A blind rivet is used within the plug and consists of a deformed sleeve member and of a ruptured annular member coaxially positioned within the sleeve member. The bottom wall of the plug is made of piercable material so that a piercing member may be introduced in the cavity to penetrate through the bottom wall to thereby have access to the space between the sheets.

    • The invention provides methods of producing and servicing insulating glass units. Methods are provided for reducing the pressure differential on an IG unit, for changing the interior pressure within an IG unit, and for changing the gaseous interior composition within an IG. These methods can be practiced by forming a hole through at least one of the panes of an IG unit, and flowing gas through the hole. One method includes forming a hole through one of the panes of an IG unit, flowing gas through the hole, and sealing the hole with an optically clear sealant (e.g., a transparent resin). A number of methods for producing IG units are also provided. Further, several kits are provided for servicing IG units. There is also provided a method for detecting leaks in an IG unit by flowing an opaque gas into the unit and observing the unit to detect leaks of the opaque gas therefrom.
