    • A marker pen storage system comprising a housing having a plurality of receptacles for receiving marker pens, each receptacle formed to include an upper and lower cavity, the upper cavity located at the opening of the receptacle and formed to include a first upper inclined section and a first lower inclined section, wherein the first upper inclined section has a greater incline than the first lower inclined section, said lower cavity sized to receive a writing end of a marker pen, receptacle openings are formed immediately adjacent so as to create guidance walls between each receptacle, and prevent a flat upper surface from being formed between adjacent receptacles, and a snap ring formed between the upper and lower cavities, wherein a relatively airtight seal is formed around the writing end of a marking pen when it is completely inserted into the lower cavity so as to prevent circulation of air to the writing end of an inserted marking pen, and the snap ring produces a snap feel and sound when a marker pen is completely inserted into the lower cavity. Guidance walls between the receptacles enable a user to properly insert a marker pen without having a direct line of site to the proper receptacle, thereby making the marker pen holder very easy for young children to use and put away marker pens when it is time to clean up. Also, the receptacle snap ring prevents marker pens from spilling out of the holder, which is very useful when marker pens are carried in children's backpacks to and from school or the like.

    • The pen holder holds separately a pen and a mating pen cap. The pen cap is removed from the pen and is stored on a pen cap clip. The pen cap clip is attached to a pen well. The pen well has a pen cavity hole for holding the various sizes and styles of marker and/or highlighter pens. The writing tip of the pen is protected from circulating air in a smaller pen tip cavity at the bottom of the pen cavity hole. The pen is ready for use without having to remove the pen cap. The pen holder can be mounted to any vertical, horizontal or inclined surface or placed on a desk-top where convenient to the user.

    • A pen collector structure includes a case body and a pair of position-adjusting controllers provided in the pivot ears at the back of the case body and the upper cover. The case body is provided with several rows of small containers in the interior. The small containers are disposed at an oblique angle. Each pivot ear of the case body has a screw hole for an inserting rod. A though hole is provided nearby each screw hole to receive a bead and an elastic element. In each pivot ear of the upper cover is provided with a through hole for each inserting rod to be inserted in, and a groove is provided at the outer end to receive a cushion. A small hole is provided in each cushion to be penetrated by each inserting rod, and several recesses are provided in the side of each cushion.

    • An artist's compartmented pastel case (50) and color arrangement for organizing, transporting, storing, and accessing artists' pastels, for use with computer graphics applications, and databases, as well as for use with traditional methods of painting with pastels. The case has a lid (60) which contains a removable resilient liner or pad (70) which protectively cushions and immobilizes pastels when the case is closed for transport. The color compartment arrangement (100) translates the painter's color triangle into a rectangular format by placing the three primary colors, red, yellow, and blue, in analogous locations (FIGS. 5 and 6). An empty, central compartment or current palette area (120) is provided as a place where all colors in current use can be grouped together. Empty subcompartments or holding areas (122), one located within each color compartment (FIG. 13), are also provided to hold selected pastels (172). The case's two-level construction keeps its color compartments free of dust and debris. A top layer of alignment elements on a mesh-like support grid (140) positions pastels within each color compartment, and allows pastel dust and fragments to fall into a collection chamber below. A color chart, disposed on the interior surface (130) of the lid, and viewed by removing the resilient pad, can be labeled and used to select pastel colors that have been calibrated with colors displayed on-screen in computer graphics, tutorial, or database applications (FIG. 28).
