摘要： A method of selectively eradicating plants includes generating images of multiple plants arranged in a bed using a camera mounted to a mobile chassis moving along the bed, determining respective locations of the multiple plants from the generated images, selecting from among the multiple plants one or more target plants to be eradicated, and eradicating the one or more target plants by accelerating a blade of a rotary cutter to strike the one or more target plants as the mobile chassis moves along the bed, and to decelerate the blade to avoid eradicating unselected plants as the mobile chassis moves along the bed, wherein the rotary cutter is carried by the mobile chassis and rotatable about an axis extending in the direction along which the mobile chassis is moved.

摘要： A system to perform vine removal includes a winch. The winch includes a mount configured to secure the winch to a stationary object. A drum is connected to the mount and configured to rotate bi-directionally. A cable is mounted to the drum such that rotation of the drum in a first direction releases the cable from the drum and rotation of the drum in a second direction spools the cable onto the drum. A securing implement is attached to an end of the cable. The securing implement is configured to attach to one or more vines such that operation of the drum in the second direction pulls the one or move vines toward the winch.

摘要： A vine removal device may include a shaft connected to a hook with a pocket. An actuation mechanism, such as a line connected to a user's belt, can actuate a movable jaw having a jaw projection configured to at least partly fit within the pocket. The hook has blade that supports a vine slide surface that facilitates collection of vines in the pocket where they can be gripped by the projection of the movable jaw. The blade may employ a surface skimmer to limit how deep the blade can penetrate the soil.
