    • Fine Timing Measurement (FTM) Burst Management during Time-of-Flight (ToF) measurements in a wireless network separates FTM traffic from other traffic activity using two distinct Media Access Control (MAC) addresses and by coordinating access availability durations between FTM activity and other traffic. Communication stations save power by powering down receive paths between FTM frames. A communication station arranged for FTM Burst Management comprises physical layer circuitry and processors to use a first MAC address for FTM procedure signals, and a second MAC address that is distinct from the first MAC address for data and traffic signals other than FTM procedure signals, and exchange FTM procedure signals with the Access Point (AP) during scheduled FTM burst access availability periods using the first MAC address, and exchange other data and traffic signals with the AP during other access availability periods using the second MAC address.

    • The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, a communication control method, and a relay station. The wireless communication system includes: a wireless terminal; a plurality of base stations; and a relay station, wherein the relay station defines a wirelessly communicable base station among the plurality of base stations as a candidate for a master station, in a case where a plurality of the candidates for the master station are present, acquires priority order setting information for setting priority orders of connection regarding the respective candidates for the master station, and sets the priority orders of the connection based on the priority order setting information. Then, in a case where the relay station has received a connection request from the wireless terminal, the control unit decides a candidate for the master station, which has a highest priority order of the connection, as an optimal master station.

    • Embodiments may define traffic priorities to facilitate transmissions for wireless communications devices. Many embodiments comprise MAC sublayer logic to generate and transmit management frames such as beacon frames, association response frames, reassociation response frames, and probe response frames with an access category for low power consumption stations or sensor stations comprising a parameter record defining a contention window that is the earliest contention window to open amongst contention windows defined for the access categories for traffic. In some embodiments, the MAC sublayer logic may store the parameter record sets for access categories in memory, in logic, or in another manner that facilitates transmission of the frames. Some embodiments may receive and detect communications with frames comprising the access categories and store a parameter set for one or more of the access categories in a management information base.
