The system includes a cross point switch that can couple any one of a plurality of input terminals to a plurality of output processor terminals. In some embodiments, one or more input modules are provided to process input signal prior to routing through the cross-point switch.

摘要： A passive video multiplexing method and apparatus for encoding video synchronization signals within a KVM extension system. A Rack Interface Pod (RIP) is provided for receiving video signals from a network server and providing them to a remote user via a local area network (LAN). The analog signals received by the RIP are transmitted to a Rack Connection Manager (RCM) having video processing logic, a supervisory processor, a KVM switch system, and Ethernet interface circuitry. A plurality of ARI systems are connected to the RCM, and a plurality of network servers, intended to be controlled by the remote user, are connected to each ARI by a respective wiring strip or Pod Expansion Module (PEM). The RCM performs selective switching by sourcing current through a pair of diodes associated with an active channel of the PEM while reverse biasing diodes associated with an inactive channel to select a network server among the plurality of network servers. Switching of video is accomplished without processing the video signals.

摘要： A router emits an infrared ray based on a signal for operating a video recorder to the video recorder at a request made by any one of personal computers connected to the router through a network. In response to the infrared ray based on a signal for operating the video recorder, the video recorder outputs analog signals to the router through cables. The router then converts the analog signals into audio and video digital signals. Subsequently, the router outputs the digital signals to the personal computer making the request by way of the network. Then, the personal computer making the request outputs a sound based on the audio digital signal and displays a picture based on the video digital signal. As a result, the router allows an analog apparatus such as the video recorder to be connected to the network in a simple configuration.

摘要： The invention is a system for providing virtual connections through an ATM interworking multiplexer on a call-by-call basis. A signaling processor receives signaling for a call and selects the virtual connection for the call. The signaling processor generates new signaling that identifies the selection and transfers the new signaling to the ATM interworking multiplexer that accepted the access connection for the call. The multiplexer converts user information from the access connection into ATM cells for transmission over the virtual connection in accord with the new signaling.
