    • An alarm switch for indicating when a latch or dead bolt for a door or window is locked or unlocked comprises a switch casing adapted for mounting on the exterior portion of the door or window frame or door or window; an electrical contact assembly mounted in the casing; a contact assembly actuating member mounted in the casing in position to change the electrical state of the contact assembly by movement of the actuating member from a deactuated to an actuated position, the actuating member being resiliently biased toward its deactuated position but being in position to engage the dead bolt or latch and move to its actuated position when the door or window is shut and the dead bolt or latch is locked, the actuating member being accessible to the door or window latch or dead bolt through an opening in the casing; and electrical terminals on the contact assembly adapted to be connected to leads leading to a remote alarm system that indicates to the alarm circuit when the door or window bolt or latch is opened. Separate switches are provided for side hinged doors having side mounted and bottom mounted dead bolts; for surface mounted dead bolts that are used on overhead doors or the like; and for emergency doors operated by a so-called panic bar. These switches may also be used for certain types of windows.

    • The present invention relates to a device that prevents unauthorized use of an appliance inasmuch as the unauthorized use results in clear evidence of such. Basically the device of the present invention comprises an electrical coupler having means for receiving a male appliance plug and male plug means for insertion into a conventional electrical outlet. A flexible tie device is provided that binds and effectively locks the male appliance plug to the electrical coupler in such a manner that the male appliance plug cannot be removed from the electrical coupler without destroying the integrity of the flexible tie device. In addition, a lock type switch is operatively associated with said electrical coupler for opening and closing the electrical circuit therein and as such, the same provides a master control for a coupled appliance.

    • An electric switch for connecting one or more of a plurality of leads on one side of an insulating substrate to a lead on the other side of the substrate. The switch includes a conductive contact member having a pin rotatably engaged in a hole in the substrate.     • An ignition switch including a key receiving lock cylinder. A pin is movable by the insertion of the key in the key receiving lock cylinder. A conducting switch leaf is connected to the hot terminal of a battery and is biased to touch a first contact of a two contact switch in the absence of any external force acting thereon. Insertion of the ignition key in the key receiving lock cylinder moves the pin so that the switch leaf is placed in contact with the second contact. When the key is removed from the key receiving lock cylinder, the switch leaf under its own resiliency moves and touches the first contact. Different circuits can be activated when the switch leaf is in circuit with either of the contacts.

    • There is disclosed an improved mounting bracket kit for providing a fail-safe actuation of the pull-plug or release pin of a conventional break-away safety switch. The bracket is suitable for use either as a retrofit to improve the reliability of operation of existing switch installations or for use with new original equipment. The mounting bracket kit is such as to provide support for both ends of a conventional pull-plug switch housing with respect to the trailer chassis and to provide a guide for the cable leading to the release pin of the switch which guide is also supported with respect to the trailer chassis and is dimensioned and positioned so that the cable guide acts as a pivot point for the cable ensuring that the pull of the cable on the release pin will be along a straight line coinciding with the longitudinal axis of the pin or plug so that the release pin will not jam in the housing if the towing vehicle and trailer assume angular relationships other than that normally intended during the break-away action. Failure of the emergency breaking mechanism due to such off-axis components of cable pull which has occurred in the past is thus obviated.
