    • An automotive projector type headlight including a light source, a reflector for reflecting the light forward, a shade for partially shading and thus contouring the reflected light, and a projecting lens for projecting the contoured light forward. The light source comprises a main filament and a sub-filament extending generally along the optical axis. The reflector has a plurality of radially divided reflective surface portions. An upper reflective surface portion reflects the light from the sub-filament and converge it to a first converging position located above the optical axis. A shading edge of the shade is positioned near to the first converging position. The projecting lens has a focus near to the shading edge. A lower reflective surface portion reflects the light from the main filament, converges it to a second converging position extending horizontally and converges the light to a third converging position extending vertically. Left and right reflective surface portions act to converge the light from both filaments and to diffuse it thereafter. And a portion of the reflective surface is formed into paraboloid of rotation having the focus near to the filaments.

    • A lamp comprising a concave mirror; a light source located at the focus of said concave mirror; a lens means provided in front of said concave mirror and said light source comprising a central portion for allowing light from said light source to pass directly outward therethrough, and a peripheral portion around said central portion for providing directivity with the light reflected from said concave mirror by allowing the light to pass outward therethrough. The improvement comprises an annular reflector provided on the peripheral portion of the central part inside said lens means for reflecting light emitted from said light source toward said peripheral portion of said lens means back towards said concave mirror past said light source. Light reaching the concave mirror from the annular reflector and light reaching the concave mirror directly from the light source are directed toward the lens in directions parallel to the axis of the light source, thereby providing enhanced illumination by the lamp.

    • A motor vehicle headlamp comprising in combination an optical system for recovering flux having a rectilinear focal segment and an optical system for rectifying images having a focal segment coinciding with the former and able to produce a beam of rays of controlled directivity passing through a narrow light window, while preserving a high luminous efficiency. The flux recovery system is constituted by an elliptical paraboloid, an hyperbolic paraboloid or their optical equivalents. By using various combinations of optical elements, it is possible to arrange the flux recovery system both in the axis of the rays leaving the headlamp, as well as on the side of the body work or on the lower part of the latter.
