In one embodiment a tool is fixable in a wellbore and includes centralizing, friction-reducing members that serve to keep the body of the tool off the walls of the wellbore. In another embodiment the tool includes a wiper ring that partially fills an annular area formed between the centered tool and the wellbore walls. The surface of the ring facing the upper end of the wellbore provides fluid resisting piston surface and permits the centered tool to be pumped down the wellbore more effectively.

The apparatus is adapted for drilling and milling away of casing sections in the wells, as preparation for plugging the same. The apparatus also includes a carriage connected to the motor adapted to absorb torques that occur during use. The carriage is connected to the coiled tubing via a swivel coupling such that a tensile force on the coiled tubing provides an advancing force for the tool and motor.

摘要： A downhole tool for providing a thrust force to an elongate body extending in a borehole formed in an earth formation is provided. The tool comprises at least one rotatable body provided with a plurality of rollers, each roller being expandable against the borehole wall at a selected contact force between the roller and the borehole wall. The rollers are oriented when expanded against the borehole wall so as to roll along a helical path on the borehole wall, and a motor is provided to rotate each rotatable body. The tool further comprises a device to measure the thrust force provided by the tool and a control system to control the thrust force provided by the tool by regulating the rotative torque of the rotatable body, in response to the measured thrust force.

摘要： A rotary drill bit comprises a bit body having a shank for connection to a drill string and a passage for supplying drilling fluid to the face of the bit, which carries a plurality of polycrystalline diamond preform cutting elements. In order to reduce bit whirl, the cutting elements are so disposed as to apply a resultant lateral force to the bit as it rotates during drilling, and the gauge of the bit body is provided with low friction bearing means to transmit said resultant force to the sides of the borehole. Each low friction bearing means includes a roller mounted on the bit body for rotation about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the bit, each roller being so disposed that its periphery bears on the formation as the bit rotates.
